"Great job overall. Came in to finish a paving job left by another contractor. On time, on budget, good communication. Hardworking crew dedicated to producing an excellent product. Their references were real. How refreshing. Highly recommend."

"THE CO. REMOVED THE OLD ASPHALT DRIVEWAY, CLEANED AND LEVELED THE GROUND, REMOVED ANY OBSTRUCTIONS AND DEBRI AND REPLACED THE OLD ASPHALT WITH NEW. THEY ALSO SEALED THE DRIVEWAY. THEY DID THE JOB, CLEANLY, EFFICIENTLY, AND I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH BOTH THE QUALITY OF THE JOB AND THE COST.
MY DRIVEWAY LOOKS GREAT.

"I have know Billy for many years and he has completed many projects where I live. Billy is an expert in water issues and corrected a very steep long gravel driveway that washed out every time there was a heavy rain. He fixed a basement flooding problem after 2 different contractors failed. He understands septic systems and can put them back into working order. He fenced in my yard and it looks beautiful. Billy has an attention to detail and is a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend WA Landclearing"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

Instead of a set number of types, asphalt comes in variations designed for different needs. Some are categorized by temperature—hot mix, warm mix, and cold mix. Others are sorted by composition, like dense-graded, gap-graded (such as Stone Matrix Asphalt), porous, and mastic asphalt. There are also modified versions with added compounds like polymers, rubber, or emulsions. Instead of focusing on a number, it may be more useful to understand how contractors customize asphalt for durability, climate, and traffic conditions.

The cost to replace a driveway ranges from $8 to $15 per square foot, depending on factors that include material, size, and labor. If your driveway has deep cracks, potholes, or drainage issues (or if it’s simply past its prime), replacement might be the smarter investment over constant repairs. Resurfacing can be a cheaper alternative at $3 to $20 per square foot, but it won’t fix your driveway’s underlying problems.

Asphalt edging secures the sides of your driveway to prevent crumbling and cracking over time. Most driveways have edges with a 45-degree grading. This helps transfer some of the stress from the asphalt to the ground underneath. If your driveway doesn’t have proper edging, the pressure from your car may break down the edges over time.

Many asphalt companies have experience with tar and chip paving, but not all. The process is unique enough—and not incredibly common enough—that you may have to look around for a tar and chip specialist. However, speaking with a driveway company is a great place to start, especially if they have experience with multiple materials.

Yes, using recycled asphalt millings is an eco-friendly alternative compared to concrete. Millings are reclaimed pieces of gravel that are recycled into aggregate that can be used on driveways, patios, walkways, basketball courts, tennis courts, and more.
