Customers say: Quality work

"I had a fire pit built by J. Escalera Landscaping. I'm very happy with it. They did a phenomenal job constructing it to last for a century or more I'm sure of that. A few details were somewhat different from what was originally discussed but they did a couple of major improvements during construction that I was really pleased to have with my fire pit after completion. They started exactly as planned and finished in a timely manner. I would hire them again."

Customers say: True professional

"Working with Frank was great! He was professional and knowledgeable. From the very first meeting, Frank provided great design ideas and different options for our backyard. We used him for a retainer wall, sitting wall, large patio, drainage and landscaping. The project was on time and stayed within the agreed upon budget. The workers were also very professional and cleaned up at the end of every day. I highly recommend!"

"We recently called ALWAYS GREEN Landscaping LLC Tree Service to have some of our well-aged trees trimmed of dead branches. The company helped to point out a few other important things my inexperienced landscaping eyes did not see which would improve the upkeep and value of my property. The crew was friendly, professional and quite skilled at their work - all maneuvering in tandem during their visit, to level up my front and back yards - plus areas that threatened chimney and home, given the looming possibility of aging trees toppling over in extreme weather. ALWAYS GREEN comes very highly recommended. Five stars ?? ?? ?????? for an exceptional customer service experience. We will definitely contact them again. Total pros!"

"It was great working with Eco Logical. Edwin was on time, pleasantly affable, worked efficiently to complete the haulage and threw in a few landscaping tips while he was at it. All at a fair price. Thanks again, Edwin"

"I recently hired Alonso to install a French drain in my backyard, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the work. He and his team were fantastic, completing the job in just two days. They made sure everything was working efficiently before they left, and followed up several days later. I've now hired them for regular yard maintenance. Highly recommend!"

"Hiring JJT Landscaping was truly the best decision I could have made! With three kids and a busy schedule, our yard had definitely become an afterthought. From the start, they impressed me with their professionalism—showing up exactly when they said they would (huge points for accountability!) and being mindful of our neighbors as well as our tight driveway. Our lawn had been struggling with grubs and brown spots, but within just a few visits, it was transformed. By the time my son’s first birthday party rolled around, the yard looked amazing and was ready to host everyone. JJT Landscaping took a stressful project off our plate and gave us a beautiful space to enjoy. I couldn’t recommend them more!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

The best time to plant a tree is in the spring, so the roots have time to grow into the surrounding soil before winter sets in. Some people recommend planting in the late fall. However, planting in the spring reduces the stress on the tree, as it will be emerging from dormancy, giving it the full spring and summer ahead to acclimate and put down roots into the soil.

Other projects that you can do at the same time as your trellis include painting the deck , installing a pergola, or adding mulch to your garden beds.

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.
