I hired Alex Masonry to remove and rebuild a retaining wall that was leaning. After some discussion, I decided to expand the project to include new bluestone caps and to re-do my cracked concrete walkway with pavers. Alex and his crew did an outstanding job. Excellent! Alex and his team did some beautiful work creating our patio, retaining wall and firepit. We absolutely love it and it has really brought our entire back yard to life. Alex first came over to see a small piece that had cracked off our concrete steps, he said of course he could fix it, but then the real fun began and we dreamt big and reimagined the hardscape in our front yard. what was finished yesterday became a masterpiece of bluestone steps with veneer trim, paver walkway with belgian block, a new rebuilt retaining wall,, a sweeping natural stone wall with steps and a circular enclosure around the base of a centerpiece japanese maple. Alex, the original Alex (his Dad) and the rest of the dedicated crew couldn't have been more skilled, polite and cleaned up after themselves completely. The vision of the job changed a few times with suggestions from Alex, Us and others.. will definitely be having them back for more work soon

I can only reiterate the other 180 positive five star reviews prior to mine. It was a pleasure working with Alex and his crew! His work exceeded our expectations. They were so polite, easy to work with, extremely professional and knowledgeable. They were here for about a week and left the worksite clean each day when finished. We hired him to replace two walkways, build a gorgeous firepit, construct two rock walls and install Belgium block around a garden. Alex was a great communicator and offered great ideas for our projects. The photos should speak for themselves.

Alex put in a patio and fire pit where we used to have a pool. Alex met us at a paver showroom and helped us pick out the style and color paver that worked for us. He is very personable and wants to ensure you get exactly what you are looking for. The team was incredibly efficient and the whole thing took only 2 days. We highly recommend Alex and even referred him to my parents who are now getting a patio done by him as well. Would definitely hire Alex again in the future.

They did a tremendous job. I had locals look at it and they were negative on the outcome. Alex Masonry came in and did exactly what needed to be done. We hire them for more work. Class act very knowledgeable and excellent craftsmanship.

Alex responded promptly to my request for an estimate and was able to provide me with one immediately after evaluating the site and job we wanted done. I thought the price was fair and in line with the other estimates, his responsiveness was top notch and he was almost immediately available. Once we agreed on hiring him, he and his team were able to start within the same week. We had an excellent experience throughout the process and he was able to quickly and fairly address any changes to the original plans. The guys were always right on time, incredibly efficient, and left the work area very clean every day after they were done. We have spent more time the last two weeks on our back patio than we have on our deck in any given year. He gave us an estimate on a Tuesday, we hired him the following Monday, they started on Saturday, and finished on Wednesday. I wish I had more work for them to do, and would certainly recommend Alex Masonry.

Nice job and very friendly. The price was reasonable. Finished the job on time. Paid the agreed-on price when he finished the job. This was part of a larger job and he was willing to work with us and divide the job over more than 3 years.

Alex and his crew were fantastic. They were on time, worked very hard and each day they left the site completely cleaned up, including the driveway where they mixed the concrete. They were complete professionals! I had a few small additional things I wanted him to do and he did them without any new charges. Prior to having Alex install the drains and do the other repairs we would always have water coming into our basement, sometimes substantial amounts of water. It has now been about a month since he did the job and we have had two big rain storms and our basement is completely dry thanks to Alex's great work. Alex is very easy to work with and has an old school work ethic, and there were no surprises or over charges. He's a straight shooter. I will be having Alex do more work for us next spring. John

This was an excellent experience. Alex responded quickly to my initial inquiry about the job we needed done. He scheduled an appointment for an estimate one week after making contact with me by phone. He was right on time for the estimate. He then emailed the estimate and we set up a follow up meeting for the project. During that meeting we decided to use Alex. He stated at the time that his price wa his price and it was. There were no additions at project end. Once we hired him, it took 6 weeks for the project to begin. Windows had to be custom ordered and this took time. Also, Alex found out that the company he ordered from made an error and the windows had to be reordered. Alex kept us informed throughout and made clear that he had not forgotten us. The day work started - they arrived exactly when they said they would and they left exactly when they said they would. The job site was kept clean throughout. At project end - the basement was left cleaner than when they arrived. The work Alex and his father did more than met our expectations. Dealing with Alex and his father was also a pleasant experience. It should be noted - we had to do nothing besides hire Alex for the job. He ordered our windows, obtained all materials etc. He was not the cheapest estimate we received but we believe that we got what we paid for - high quality work - from a team of professional craftsman.

Alex and his team were absolutely fantastic! This was the second time I used them in the past year and they did not disappoint. I hired them to remove stone veneer around my foundation that was falling off due to poor workmanship from a prior contractor and then install new stone, as well as install bluestone on my front stoop. They were extremely professional and meticulous in completing the work. Their daily positive attitudes, attention to detail and cleanliness made them a pleasure to have around our home. They were always punctual, respectful and friendly, which goes a long way in enhancing the experience. Alex was adamant about providing the best service possible, and was never once rude or off-putting when I had questions. I can not say enough good things about him or his team. We will absolutely be using him to build a staircase/walkway from our the side of our home to our back patio. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience!

I cannot praise Alex Masonry enough. Alex is so friendly and easy to deal with. He gave me a very reasonable estimate and ended up including some extra work at no charge. Alex Jr and his team, including Alex Sr, were terrific. Alex Jr is extremely personable and friendly. He arrived on time for our appointment to discuss a new walkway for our house and came armed with ideas and photos of different paver options to consider and suggestions for what would work best. We chose to keep the S-shaped curve of the prior path, which is trickier to install than a straight walk, but installation went very smoothly and on schedule, and was finished in two days. We couldn't be happier with the result. The walkway is beautiful and a huge upgrade to our home. I would definitely hire Alex Masonry again.

We shopped around several local companies to quote a big project around our pool and some landscaping beds. From the beginning every communication with Alex Masonry was prompt and professional. They came out and took the time to listen to what we envisioned, suggested a few alternatives and helped us come to a final product. Even before we committed to the project, they helped us find showrooms to view the product, offered to meet us there (we declined) and helped walk us through exactly what we needed to see. Their quote wasn't the lowest, and certainly not the highest, but based on what we saw early on, it was certainly the best quality for the price paid. We felt like we were getting our monies worth and that was very important to us. Once we committed to using Alex Masonry, they came out one final time before work started and walked us through every step, meticulously making sure we were all on the same page, to ensure the project came out exactly how we hoped. A reassuring final step before the work actually started. Basic description of the project was to completely remove the existing paver patio around the inground pool. Excavate the old base material and install new base and pavers around the pool. We decided to add river rock beds in certain areas to change the look and feel of the space. They also removed and rebuilt a 40 foot section of a landscaping retaining wall, used an anchoring system and tethered wall to it. They also trenched and designed a drainage system to alleviate future water problems. This required quite extensive manual removal of large buried rocks and some pneumatic drilling of ledge. In addition, they built a large fire pit and capped with existing bluestone steps that were recycled from the demo. I would enthusiastically recommend Alex Masonry. Great crew, hard working, prompt and do an outstanding job. You will be hard pressed to find a company that does such quality work and craftsmanship for the price. Thank you and your crew! We love the new space!
