"Great experience from start to finish. My wife and I needed to have 2 ceiling fans and light kits installed. The work was scheduled quickly and TFC Electrical Services was even able to do the job earlier than expected. Tom and Ralph arrived as scheduled, on time and we were given a fair price quote. They had to install electrical wiring and box in our bedroom ceiling prior to installing the fan and light. They took the time to protect our furniture and floors by covering everything with protective tarps. Additionally, the installed a fan and light kit in an adjacent staircase. The concern and respect that they showed for our home was admirable and appreciated. The installations were neat, clean and expertly completed. They completed all the work in about 3 hours. TFC Electrical Services should be a model for “ALL” other electrical contractors. Any future electrical work in my home will be offered to this company. Thank you Theresa, Tom and Ralph."

"From start to finish, Best Quality Electric delivered an exceptional, white-glove experience. The process began with a dedicated consultation that was educational, detailed, and thoughtfully planned—setting a clear vision before any work even began. The following day, the team arrived precisely on time and immediately demonstrated a level of professionalism that is rare to find. Shoe protection was used, and every floor and piece of furniture was carefully covered. Their respect for the home was as impressive as their craftsmanship. Watching the two electricians work was remarkable. They operated in perfect sequence, anticipating each other’s next step, covering every single detail with precision. Not one question went unanswered—each was met with patience, clarity, and deep expertise that inspired complete confidence. Best Quality Electric truly lives up to its name. Electrical questions, answered by experts

Modern homes have a lot of devices and appliances running at once. That means there are many different wires and cables throughout the house. Service entrance conductors (also known as service entrance cables or service feed wires) connect the external weatherhead for the utility pole to the circuit breaker box. This is your home’s connection to your local power grid.

Ultimately, the best device depends on what you’re measuring. A voltmeter only measures volts, while a multimeter measures volts, current, resistance, humidity, and possibly much more, depending on the model. If you think you’ll need to measure more than volts, consider investing in a multimeter so you have a tool that can help you with various household projects.

The standard copper wire gauge to use with any 30-amp circuit is a 10-gauge wire. The National Electric Code specifies a 10-gauge wire with appliances like water heaters running on 30 amps. If you try to use a smaller gauge wire, such as a 12 gauge, with a 30-amp breaker, you run the risk of the wire overheating and melting or causing a fire. Because of the safety hazards, the gauge of the wire is not an area to try to cut costs when connecting a 30-amp breaker to a water heater.

The dials on an electrical meter simply represent the number of kWh you have used since it was installed. In a five-dial setup, the left-most dial represents tens of thousands of kWh, while the next dial to the right represents thousands of kWh. The following dials going to the right represent hundreds, tens, and ones.

Yes, the National Electric Code (NEC) requires at least one GFCI outlet in each sectioned-off portion of an unfinished basement, partly to ensure a power source is available for a sump pump in case of flooding. If you install multiple outlets in your unfinished basement, all of them must be GFCI-protected. For finished basements, standard outlets are generally permitted, but at least one GFCI outlet is still required per circuit. Keep in mind that local municipalities may have additional codes, so it's best to consult a licensed electrician to ensure your home is fully compliant.
