"Hector and Moises were excellent! Hector came with one other of their crew and assembled my permanent gazebo. "Peter and Alex were excellent workers. They did a great job finishing up our bathroom remodel. They did our shower niche in tile, including the cutting and fitting of the shelves, and put on our shower curbs. They also installed a pocket door lock, and did the plumbing to hook up our sink. They did a great job cutting all the tile, getting it to match up just right, grouting everything etc. They were on-time, courteous, and very knowledgeable about everything. They were also extremely neat and cleaned up after themselves. My husband and I only wish that we would have known about them before. If we did, we would have had them do the whole remodel. If we ever need more work, I will be sure to call them."

While tile is the best option in the bathtub, don’t forget to consider the flooring around the wash station. Moisture-holding carpet is a no-no, but is tile or vinyl better for dogs? Tile flooring is tough, moisture-resistant, cool, and scratch-proof. However, it’s more tricky to install and costs more than vinyl flooring. If you opt for vinyl, select tough luxury vinyl flooring; otherwise, canine claws could quickly damage the surface of standard, budget vinyl.

If you’re handling your tile removal yourself, seal the room using painter’s tape and heavy-duty contractor bags to prevent dust and shards from escaping. Use a claw hammer or a pry bar and a mallet to get behind the tile and pry it away from the floor or wall. Once your tiles are all removed, sweep everything into contractor bags for disposal, being careful not to overfill them. Make sure you wear a dust mask, safety goggles, and work gloves to keep yourself safe from injury while you work.

Updating your backsplash without removing the tile is possible in a couple of different ways. First, you can remove the old grout and replace it with new grout to give your backsplash a fresh look. You can also change the grout color, which can have a surprisingly large impact on the final appearance of the backsplash. Finally, you can paint the original tile to totally change the look of the backsplash without removing it.

The difference between floor and wall tiles is that floor tiles generally have higher strength and porosity ratings than wall tiles. Wall tiles are typically weaker and more likely to crack or become damaged under sustained pressure like high foot traffic. 

For this reason, avoid using wall tiles on floors and vice versa.

You can, in theory, tile your fireplace hearth with most tiles. However just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. For example, it’s much better to use unglazed tiles because glazed tiles are more resistant to cracking under extreme heat.
