Completely unprofessional, rude, a liar and a thief.

I hired Leo to bring my house up to NYC dob code. Hes hard to find, does not return calls or text until days later. After the down payment it took him 1 month to start the job. He tried to cut corners and install outlets on the outside of the wall. When the job was finally completed. The dob came to inspect and gave me a violation for work that was performed to the panel without a permit. Thats a class 1 violation that carries up to a$5000 fine. I called Leo to correct his blunder because he submitted the application for a permit to work and forgot or did not know he had to include work on the electrical panel. He disappeared and left me to deal with his blunder. Hes unreliable and rude to deal with. Hire at your own risk

Leo was very helpful in advising me of my options and recommendations for upgrades and safety measures for the second floor electrical project. His assistant provided a breakdown of the work in progress which was very informative. Highly recommended and looking forward to future electrical upgrade projects.

Smart, knowledgable and a more than fair price. Knew what to do to get the job done, didn't try to make it more difficult, just solved the problem in a smart efficient manner. On top of that, he was a pleasure to work with. Will be recommending him to others in my building and around the city.

Since I moved into my apartment around 20 years ago, I've had problems with the bathroom exhaust fan. When I turned it on, often the circuit breaker would be thrown. Finally it got to the point where it just wouldn't work at all - if I tried to use it, the fuse was blown. I posted the project here and Leonel of Berardi contacted me shortly afterwards. After looking at it he determined that the fan was the wrong kind and wasn't even installed properly. He explained it to me, ordered the correct fan, and had someone come over to install it. Now the fan works perfectly, no more blown fuse, and it's less noisy, too. They could have played this differently, slapped on a bandaid on it and had me call again and again for the same problem, but Berardi did the right thing. I'd recommend them to anybody who needs electrical work done.

I hired Leo to replace fuse into breaker box, changing two of my ceiling lights into LED fixtures and removal of a ceiling fan. He also offered to change all my light switches into dimmer and outlet for free. Leo is very responsive to text messages. In one occasion I messed up the wiring in one of the outlets, Leo came the next day to fix the problem without charging me. In this instance alone I know I can count on him again next time I need electrical service. Be well Leo.

Great experience from the first time I made a request on HomeAdvisor. Leo called me within 5 minutes to inquire about my service. He came within 2 hours that same day to give me a free estimate and determine what work including all the permits needed to be done. I picked a relatively short turn around time to complete the work which included upgrading from 100 amps to 200 amps and taking out and installing new box and outside circuitry. Leo gave me a written estimate, itemized and emailed it to me and work was done within a week. When his team arrived they were on time with all of the necessary supplies and started working. One of the most details I saw in his work was that he was there at the work site the entire time making sure his crew was doing everything right and completing the work on time. It was about 7-8 hour job and Leo was there the entire time. I was impressed with what I saw I decided to ask for another task which included another light fixture in front of the garage because I knew he would do a good job. Leo and his workers are good, honest and dependable.

Incomplete work. He did not finish his job per contract and received more money for additional work and never returned. This work was for an elderly woman.

Very good at what he does. Very knowledgeable and likes to walk you through all the processes he goes through. The only reason I did not give five stars is that it took a little longer than expected to get the job started. Would I hire Leo again, yes. Very satisfied with the work done.

Enough working experiment. Good service attitude. He is nice and kind. Did good job in the work. Hope to work with him next time.

Leo did come in an emergency situation. Work was done on September 7, 2018. However, I have made several attempts to get an invoice for the work done and paid for. As of today, September 23, 2018 I have not received an invoice. Now in January 2022, he needs to give me a proposal and never did, he has my deposit of $1500 that I gave him in September 7th 2021 and now I am not able to get a hold of him to continue the project. My utility company also has not heard anything from him. The case now is inactive since we have not heard from them.

They will get the job done.

I hired the SP and bought a heater/air conditioner and I paid him $500 deposit. He wired the garage after I paid him $650. He has not delivered the heater/ac unit. He did not wire the 240 volt line into garage. The track lighting and one outlet do not work. He stated he would come back on 2 different times and never did. He will not return calls or texts. He never put the cover on the outside outlet either.

He was very nice, and very knowledgeable. He made a point to fit us in his schedule when we had an emergency.

I rarely write reviews but I have to share my happy experience using Home Advisor for the first time. Leo from Berardi Electrical Contractors is great. I hired him to install smart WiFi dimmers for my LED lights so that I could control the lights in my home with voice commands to my Alexa. I had been trying to get an electrician to do the job for months using my network of family and friends to find someone, but I had no success. I attempted to do the job myself but managed to cause a short which took my main power circuit breaker offline. I did not have power or heat for over 24 hours (in the middle of winter!). I could not even get the dimmer set properly since there was no room in the electrical box due to the terrible work of a previous electrician. After seeing a Home Advisor commercial I decided to give them a try. Leo called me within 10 minutes and we scheduled an appointment for the same day. He stayed in constant phone communication with me because he was running behind schedule on another job, eventhough he was only 15 minutes late getting to my house. Leo did an excellent job. He and his assistant checked each circuit before working to make sure that there was no power. They removed the wiring clutter from each box to make sure that the large dimmers had room. They tested their work constantly. After completing the project, they cleaned each fixture with cleaning solution and they removed all of the debris which was far above my expectations. They even completed my son's chore for the day, cleaning the stairs to the second floor. After installing a dimmer at the top of the steps they swept the entire staircase! It was cleaner after they left than before they arrived! I did not think that it could get any better, but it did. When Leo told me the price it was less than half of what I expected! Leo is very honest, personable, and polite. He asked my permission before entering each room. The level of attention to detail he gave for such a small job was wonderful. Especially since he told me that he typically works on large commercial projects. I will never need another electrician again. Leo is my go to guy. I am already recommending him to my friends and family. If you choose Leo you can never go wrong. I am so impressed by him and his work. Thanks Leo! Best, Ernest

excellent service, but hard to reach sometimes

He was extremely knowledgeable. Because I lost my heat due to an electrical issue in some of the most extreme weather, I thought I might get a surcharge or an elevated price. He did none of that! His price was extremely reasonable, his work excellent, and truly a pleasure to deal with. He called me back almost immediately after I contacted him, there are several other electricians I left messages with that never even returned the call. Bottom line he is ethical, fair and skilled! He saw additional substandard work that he corrected beyond the electrical panel and explained what he did. He even took the time to label switches! One of the best! Experiences I have had with a technician for the home!

Leo’s great, I highly recommend him. He got the bathroom’s wiring corrected (it was a mess) and recommended/installed a light fixture that will last a long time with use of minimal energy. He is very straight forward and answered any questions I had. I will not hesitate to call him again.
