"G & G Landscaping is amazing! We had a huge 25 ft beam that fell on our neighborâ s fence in Watervliet, NY. I sent G & G a request late at night; they answered within a couple hours and came over shortly the next day. They took care of the beam with no problem and even removed it for us. They were extremely reasonably priced, friendly, and communicative. While they were still at our property we asked them to take down three arborvitae as well, which they did within 1.5 hours and completely cleaned the area afterward. We are so impressed and grateful for their prompt help. I canâ t recommend them enough!"

"Eugene and Dennis helped us with a large branch that landed on our roof. Luckily there was no damage but it was big enough where we could not remove it ourselves. They arrived quickly, were professional and friendly. They had attention to safety and making sure no damage was done in the process. They also were kind enough to give us a quote to help prevent any further issues in the future. They left the wood at our request and stacked it neatly and made sure all debris was gone. I look forward to working with them again in the future and would recommend them to anyone looking for tree services in the future."

"We had a triple trunk, huge silver maple in our back yard that needed to come down. Its location made access and removal tricky. We started this project 3 years ago and waited for someone to actually keep their promise of showing up to do the job. In total, we had spoken to 8 Tree Service Companies, but they kept ghosting us, and we determined they just didn’t want the job. Finally we found ER Tree Services. Edwin was great at communicating with us, agreed to remove our tree within 2 weeks and kept his word. His team showed up on time, went right to work and masterfully took down this huge tree. The workers were professional, polite and careful in the falling of the tree and the removal of all the debris. Our backyard look great when they finished their clean-up. Several neighbors reached out, saying how amazed they were watching this crew work with such skill and synchronicity. We absolutely can’t say enough positive things about Edwin and his team. They are the only Tree Service we would ever recommend"

"Brandon the owner was a pleasure to work with. I had him trim 3 large oak trees and remove 5 or 6 smaller trees. He also did the stump grinding. It was all done in a morning. They cleaned up everything, and you couldn't even tell they had been here by 1 PM."

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Completely topping a plum tree is a risky business. Cut too much, and you’ll kill your tree. That said, you do need to trim the top of your tree to encourage bushy growth, maintain your tree’s vase shape, and limit size.

A plum tree's central leader (or trunk) should never extend more than 3 feet above the highest branch. When you first plant your tree, cut the central leader so it’s 2 to 3 feet tall. As it grows, cut it back 12 to 20 inches until it reaches its desired height. Never prune more than one-third of the new growth.

Yes, it’s okay to trim low branches on a tree, also known as limbing up or raising the crown. Essentially, you’ll trim the lower third of the tree (trunk) and leave the upper two-thirds of the tree (crown). Arborists recommend trimming 20% of a tree’s leaves per season for two to three seasons. Trimming low branches allows light to flow through the tree, increasing circulation and making the tree stronger and healthier.

Bradford pear trees bloom in early spring with small white flowers. They typically flower for at least two weeks. In bloom, these trees often emit a foul-smelling odor that’s often compared to rotting fish. Bradford pear trees will sometimes bloom in the fall due to drought or other stress-inducing conditions.

Transplanting a palm tree is a similar process except for a couple of important differences. First, their root ball doesn’t need to be as large as a “true” tree, which makes them a bit easier to dig up and move around. Second, they struggle more with taking root and staying upright in a new location, so it’s important to give them extra support when staking.

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.
