"G & G Landscaping did a great job! They took down 2 large trees, removed the stumps, and cleared away a lot of overgrown brush. They had to deal with some snow and very cold weather.…that did not deter them. They worked diligently for 3 days to get the job done. I am extremely happy with their work, professionalism, and the price was very fair."

"Amazing service from Tim and his team. I needed three trees removed from my property and he got back to me quickly for an estimate, then just as quick to schedule the appointment. The trees were removed safely and it was amazing to see how quickly and efficiently they worked. My yard looks amazing and now it can be better utilized without the massive trees in the way. I canâ t wait for fall and not to have to spend days raking leaves from my yard! It was definitely worth every penny to make my yard safer without the trees. Iâ d recommend anyone who needs any of the services they provide to go with Dumpster Daddy over anyone else."

"Edwin is the best! He arrived quickly to evaluate my large tree which needed to come down and in a few days it was done while I was out of town. After the ice storm there were a few other limbs which needed to be taken down and he is coming back in a couple days to get that done. He is professional and his price was very good for the work he did. I would definitely hire him again."

"Brandon and his crew are fantastic - friendly, professional, reliable. They removed 4 trees, ground the stumps, and trimmed up 3 others that we wanted to keep but needed the dead wood removed. Their level of communication is refreshing and they did a great job cleaning up. Competitively priced on top of it. Would recommend every time. Our new go-to tree guys! Thank you!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Homeowners are usually not responsible for trees that fall on power lines. Power companies usually have utility easements around power lines, which give them the responsibility to maintain any trees within about 15 to 20 feet of the lines.

You should plant trees at least 15 to 20 feet away from your house, and more if the tree will grow large and spread its limbs. Trees pose several dangers to houses when planted too close. They can litter the roof with leaves and branches, create fire hazards, make a ladder for larger pests, and even damage the foundation as their roots grow.

A tree branch should start to form roots in about three months. It can take about a year for a tree branch to develop roots strong enough to go in the ground. For best results, start several branches because, no matter how closely you follow instructions, they won’t all form roots. Compost any that aren’t thriving.

You can use a chainsaw, but it won’t remove the entire stump or root ball and is not a recommended method. It takes quite a bit of physical work to achieve and will likely dull or ruin your chainsaw. Instead, consider using salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, stump grinding, or burning to kill a tree stump. These methods allow you to kill a stump using minimal machinery and physical exertion.

Large, established tree branches won’t grow roots, but if you find a young tree branch that’s less than about a year old, you’ve got a shot. Put it in water or soil as soon as possible for best results. You’ll know the branch is viable if it’s about the thickness of a pencil and has some leaves or needles.
