"The most important attribute of a tree service is that they show up when they say to estimate and then perform the work within a short time afterward. These guys did both. The crew worked quickly and efficiently, doing everything they were asked. I'd hire them again."

Customers say: True professional

"Couldn’t be happier. Mike and Vinny were a pleasure to work with. Quality of work was great, professional, fair pricing but most of all great customer service. I was just looking for some edging and mulching and he went above and beyond and trimmed my bushes, took care of some shrubs that were dying and cleaned them up to give them a better chance of recovering and had some left over mulch so he did a small strip I had infront of my fence at no extra charge. Would highly recommend."

"The owner of the company called and explained to me everything that he does and what can go wrong with roof damage and snow removal. He has been doing this for the better half of 15 years and the knowledge he had show that. He actually told me that he did not feel I needed it done and would rather me save my money. Even though he did not do my roof, that instantly gains my utmost respect and will absolutely use him in the future if I need anything done, especially roof snow removal"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

Most experts recommend removing a tree that has sustained more than 25% loss in the limbs, trunk, or circumference of the bark. Doing an initial trimming of damaged and dangling branches, but then waiting a few days of monitoring to decide how much more you might need to cut can help you better assess the total damage to the tree. However, consulting a tree maintenance pro to make this determination the best course of action before removing a tree.

Light-bark trees are most notorious for producing lots of sap when wounded. These varieties include maples, birches, poplars, dogwoods, magnolias, and elms, and they will bleed more when the trees are dormant. That’s why it’s a good idea to prune them in the summer months rather than waiting until winter.

On grafted trees, tree suckers will grow from the root stock, not the branches grafted onto it. Therefore, the leaves and characteristics of the suckers aren’t the same as the tree because they are different varieties. Root stock has more hardiness, strength, or drought tolerance than its grafted limbs, so if the suckers are from fruit or flowers, it might be different than the main part of your tree.

You can use a felling ax to chop down a tree by following the same prep and steps as a chainsaw, but be prepared to use some muscle. For trees bigger than 7 inches in diameter, it can take some time and serious strength to cut down a tree using just an ax.

On average, tree removal costs around $750, with a typical range between $200 and $2,000. The final price depends on several factors, including the tree's height, trunk diameter, species, and overall health. Accessibility is also a key factor; costs will be higher if the tree is in a hard-to-reach area or located near structures like power lines or your home. Additional costs may apply for services such as stump removal (which can add $100 to $150), log-splitting, debris cleanup, and obtaining necessary permits. It is also customary to tip the professional, usually between $20 and $100.
