"We decided to replace the tired carpet in our condo. United Carpet was our second stop in search of solid vinyl wood plank flooring. We were fortunate to meet Art McLeod, who showed us a vast array of options, We settled on Karndeen and found one we though would go well next to the existing parquet wood flooring in the rest of the condo. He urged us to take a sample home, and we were glad he did, for our sense of the color match was way off. When we returned he shows us what he thought would work. He "right" sold us, (others had tried to get us to take a more expensive product than we needed or wanted) offering us a product a bit less expensive than what we picked, but he assured us it was of equal quality and better for our application, over a concrete floor (we live an a converted 1903 schoolhouse). His selection was right on the money. He kept us apprised of the order and delivery dates and set up an install date based on our availability. His install crew, Jim and Bob arrived on time, calling ahead. Unfortunately they discovered the concrete under the carpet had heaves and cracks and would require leveling. They were craftsmen and did the job carefully and completely. A one day install dragging into four days, but we didn't mind, because we knew the job would be done well and right. They went out of their way to accommodate us in timing of arrival, and always kept us apprised of any need for them to briefly engage in a repair or other activity. They were not going to leave until the job was done perfectly, and they held to that promise. They were pleasant, respectful, and a pleasure to have in our home. We are thrilled with the product, with the installation and our entire experience with United Carpet has been excellent. We cannot recommend them highly enough."

"The job went very well. Doug provided a very fair quote to replace my 4 year old roof that was very poorly installed by a different contractor. He also provided a quote to replace my family room ceiling which was damaged due to the roof leaking. He responded to my request for an estimate within minutes and was at my house within 30 minutes to determine the work to be done. He was upset by the work by the previous contractor and his goal was to restore my confidence in small business contractors and he and his workers definitely did that. Doug and the crew were thorough and attentive to small details. They went above and beyond on some aspects of the job.....manufacturing and installing a finished edge where the roof met the house on the garage and on an addition, matching the paint color of my siding for that edging, painting the roof vents and power vent, adding very nice crown molding on the newly installed ceiling. The crew was friendly and respectful of my property and Doug checked in regularly to make sure things were progressing well and that I was satisfied. The job did take longer than the original estimate, but that was because of the issues that had to be dealt with. The work was completed for the price quoted.
