Customers say: Quick response

"Ken came to do an estimate on a ceiling repair from a pipe leak. He had the equipment with him, and did the repair on the spot. The ceiling looks great, and he was very neat-no mess at the end. I would definitely hire him again when we need drywall work. Very personable, and my dog liked him, too!"

"Paul and his crew were professional, punctual and very talented with the work done. They finished the basement walls in the time promised and the walls looked better than I ever expected in my very old home. I immediately hired Paul and the crew to repair my cement and brick front porch which was in serious need of repair. Again an outstanding job! Both projects were done successfully at a more than reasonable price. They are talented and professional in every way!"

"I had cement crumbling away from some of the brickwork on house. I had What The Brick Masonry come. They repaired all the cracks. Also checked my chimney and repaired areas there with new cement also. It was a very small job, but it wasn’t something I could do myself. I was very satisfied with the work done. Impressed me that they got back to me the same day I requested them. Also impressed they came the next day to get work done. If I need any more work done I would definitely hire them again!!!!! "We have a brick chimney at our recently bought house that needed a chimney inspection. The previous owners put on a new roof and we were concerned about leaking. Vinny was very professional and checked everything thoroughly. He said all looked good and he would checked it again on the spring. I highly suggest him! Quick response time, courteous and very professional."

Wall Repair questions, answered by experts

A retaining wall can only function as a fence if it’s high enough on all sides to prevent someone from accidentally falling into the pool. However, most retaining walls retain dirt, which means their purpose is not related to safety. There would need to be nothing on the other side of the wall for it to be considered a fence, but in that case, it wouldn’t retain anything and would cease to be a retaining wall.

Yes, including patterns, finishes, and plant integration for aesthetic enhancement.

To maintain the integrity of your landscape, a retaining wall must be installed if the slope of the angle exceeds 35 degrees. The lean of the wall must be 1 inch per 12 inches in height to disperse the weight of the soil uniformly and guarantee the correct drainage of the soil.

Rebar is a steel support that goes inside concrete to prevent structural damage over time. Concrete is susceptible to impact, weight, and tension. By inserting rebar into the concrete during the installation, you can help extend its lifespan and avoid hazardous situations where the foundation of your home gives way to tensile forces.

Poured concrete is often the cheapest material for a retaining wall, costing around $6 to $8 per square foot. Other budget-friendly options include vinyl and landscaping timbers, which range from $10 to $15 per square foot; landscaping timbers are particularly well-suited for DIY projects. Untreated timber and railroad ties are a step up in price, starting at $15 to $25 per square foot. Natural stones can also be a cost-effective choice if you can source them from your own property, but they can be expensive to purchase. High-end materials like steel are typically the most expensive but offer superior durability and aesthetics.
