Sharon Fence was started in 1964 as a family owned business one hour north of Pittsburgh in Sharon, Pennsylvania. Originally named Sharon Metal Fence, the company focused on wholesale chain link distribution. The company has grown through adding products, manufacturing capabilities, and locations to be a major player in the region. We manufacture all types of gates from residential swing gates to large aluminum slide and BOSS (Bottom Slide System) gates for 40+ foot openings. We also manufacture chain link fabric of all types including superior GBW (Galvanized Before Weave) fabric that installers rave about because they don't get cuts on their hands and because it stretches so much easier than GAW from our competitors.

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts
No, fence posts aren’t always set in concrete. If you don’t want to use concrete footings for your posts, expanding foam is a popular alternative. Expanding foam and concrete each have certain pros and cons. For instance, foam is easier to install and more sustainable, but concrete is sturdier and less expensive.
Pickets should sit at least 2 inches off the ground to encourage groundwater to flow underneath. Pickets can sit as much as 6 inches off the ground, but setting it any higher could let pets in or out of your yard unintentionally. These are not to be confused with the fence posts anchored underground with soil or concrete footing.
Your dog might be able to slip underneath chewable, flexible fabric gate covers. When you have a wayward woofer, using wooden panels that come within an inch or two of the ground is the most secure option. You may need a metal defense barrier dug into the soil to keep your dog from digging under your fence or gate.
Yes, installing wrought iron fencing will usually require a building permit, as do all types of fencing. Building permits for wrought iron fencing typically cost between $150 and $500, and the price will vary based on where you live and how much your local building department charges. You may also need to pay for a property survey if you’re installing wrought iron fencing on your property line. This type of survey can cost around $500, but it prevents issues with building on neighboring properties, which can be much more expensive in the long run.
Rust, bent or broken bars, loose posts, and weakened welds are common problems that require repair to maintain security and appearance.
