"These people responded almost immediately to my request to clear a drain blockage. When the drain clogged again two days later, they came back immediately and snaked another part of the system successfully curing the problem. The revisit and work was free of charge. They even apologized for not permanently clearing the drain the first time. They were extremely nice and courteous and I would recommend them highly for any plumbing or sewage problem."

"I called Rapid Plumbing because I had an issue with my bathroom toilet. Chris came to my home and the job had a drain issue which he wasnâ t equipped for so he quickly called Pete Kruczko who could do the drain issue and he came and fixed the problem. Both gentlemen including another fellow was with Chris. I believe his name was Mike not sure the job was done great everything is working up to par. Great guys I would definitely call them again if I had and issue again. They were efficient and job well done."

"Our shower suddenly stopped draining. We contacted ANGI and were given this company’s information. They called and said they could come right out. The repair tech was there soon and fixed the issue quickly and completely. He even cleaned the area when he finished. We were very happy with this company and will probably call them again for future repairs."

French Drains questions, answered by experts

A small amount of diluted bleach is okay to pour down a garbage disposal. As part of your weekly garbage disposal maintenance, use 1 teaspoon of bleach with your concoction of ice cubes and lemon peels. Turn on the disposal and run the water until the blades chop up the ice cubes.

Any more bleach in your disposal can harden oils and greases in your drain, which can cause problems. Always wear gloves when working with bleach, and know that you really don’t need bleach at all—vinegar, baking soda, salt, and ice should do the trick.

If you've discovered a rather frightening buildup of brown and black gunk below your shower cover, you're not alone. The smelly sludge is often a collection of mildew and biofilm. Biofilm comes from the breakdown of soap scum, hair, skin cells, and bacteria that collects during shower time. It's quite common in a humid space and relatively easy to clean with a gentle DIY cleaning solution such as baking soda and vinegar.

Snaking a drain can take as little as a few minutes for small, simple clogs, up to two hours or more for tough clogs located further down the drain line. For tougher clogs, a professional drain cleaner can likely get the job done much more quickly because they have the necessary tools and expertise. However, your drain cleaning pro might not be able to give you a firm time estimate until inspecting the clog and its surrounding plumbing.

The cost to repair a main sewer line clog is about $3,110 on average. The average cost range is  $1,310 to $4,950, but it can go as low as $215 and as high as $9,300 or more. The cost factors for this repair include the severity of the clog, pipe accessibility, video inspection, removal method, permits, pipe material, labor rates in your area, and time of year. Repairs made from outside during the winter can be more difficult due to the frozen ground or during the spring if the ground is saturated from a lot of rain and snow melt.

Yes, chemical drain cleaners contain sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid, both of which are not only dangerous to your health but also extremely caustic. Drain cleaners will corrode your pipes and could lead to destroyed drain lines, especially if the chemicals interact with the piping for long periods. Unfortunately, this extended interaction is likely if you’re dealing with a clog, as the drain cleaner will have just as much trouble as water does moving through your plumbing system.
