"Most happy with the company and the serviceman Jason. Our downstairs bathroom toilet became clogged late in the evening and I received a telephone call within minutes of posting my request for a plumber. Jason indicated that he was finishing another call in the area and would be at our house next. He called again about 15 minutes later as he arrived at our house. Jason immediately and efficiently cleared the blockage. We could not be happier with the service we received and are grateful for the speedy service - especially at such a relatively late hour."

"Very professional, larger co. with excellent customer service and follow up. Plumber arrived on time and finished a portion of the work, with need to order parts and come back to finish the job. So far, very pleased with the work, but services are expensive and done by the job, not time and materials."

"I could not be more impressed. We closed on our first house on 12/23/16 and 2 weeks later had a furnace emergency. I have been in the hospitality and guest services industries my whole life and I have to say, it does NOT get better than this company. My first interactions were with Milly and Carly over the phone. They were sympathetic, understanding, and very focused on making sure to get us the help and service we needed. The next day, Paul showed up and immediately put our minds at ease. He walked me through everything, explaining what needed to be done and offering several options for service based on our needs. He was kind, knowledgable, and thorough. With his colleague Trevor, they quickly replaced our furnace and we managed to escape the freeze - whew! Paul also pointed out a few other deficiencies in our kitchen plumbing, but never once pressured me into getting them serviced. By this time, we were 100% confident in Paul and knew he had our best interest in mind. So of course we will go with JSP to get our kitchen fixed. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

The time it takes to install or replace a faucet depends on the complexity of the job. A plumber can typically replace a kitchen faucet in 30 minutes to one hour. A standard installation often takes a plumber one to two hours, which is a similar amount of time for an experienced DIYer performing a simple replacement. However, the job can take much longer if there are complications. For example, if the plumbing system needs modifications, or if you are installing a wall-mounted or freestanding model that requires opening up walls or flooring to run new plumbing, the project could take as long as seven to eight hours for a professional to complete.

The average cost to replace a toilet fill valve is around $100, and prices range from $50 up to $150, depending on your location, the experience of the plumber, and how accessible your toilet is. In most cases, a professional plumber can replace your fill valve in under an hour, although it might take longer if they also need to fix or replace other components at the same time.

Yes, many people choose to bury their sump pump discharge pipes. When you leave the pipe visible in your yard, you might trip over it or accidentally damage it with your lawn mower. Plus, from an aesthetic perspective, hiding the discharge line underground looks nicer than leaving it out in the open. Before burying a sump pump pipe, review your local building codes to make sure your installation is compliant.

You can use PEX pipe underground, and it will hold up well in underground insulations. Keep in mind that PEX tubing is not rated for outdoor use and that insulation is necessary in regions that experience cold winters. When using it underground, you should also bury PEX piping at least 12 inches below the frost line.

It’s sometimes difficult to distinguish a clog from a frozen drainpipe since ice technically causes a clog. If the temperature doesn’t tip you off, there are a few additional signs that your pipe is frozen. Look for condensation and frost around the pipes. Ice in pipes can cause a banging or clanking noise as opposed to a clog from a softer material.
