"I wrote a bad review for this company he didn’t like it but he did come back and fix at least the leak I had paid them for for $2400 then he said he would come back and re-mother the sailing and fix it if I took off the bad review. I took off the bad review and it has been five weeks or more. He never came back never saw him another job. I had him do for me. It was replaced a small mini porch step he charged me $1500 for it did it with wood that had two big knots in the wood which I thought was kind of why would you put big open hole knots into a flooring but he did it now three days ago, the hot water in my master bedroom froze. I had to hire another contractor to come in and loan behold the man never put any insulation any covering between the step in the house so down in the basement, you see daylight the pipes are right there in the basement the hot water pipe froze. I had to hire another contractor to come in and in between the slats of wood that he replaced had to put clear sealant because he left open holes to go right down into my basement never put a drop insulation just a big giant open hole and he had to insulate my pipes the new man fill the coals into the wood that he did and I had to pay somebody else to finish his job. Do not get 24./7 home repairs to do anything it’s all half assed"

Roof Ice and Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

When starting the engine, you typically leave the choke on a snowblower in the "choke" or "closed" position. After starting, let the engine run for a few minutes to warm up. Then, gradually open the choke, moving it to the "open" or "run" position, allowing more air into the engine and transitioning to a normal fuel-air mixture. The exact duration varies based on the snowblower model and ambient temperature, but as a general rule, you should open the choke once the engine has stabilized and runs smoothly, typically within a few minutes.

If you’re struggling to find anything else suitable in your cupboards, a vinegar and water ice melt makes for a passable quick fix. Just don’t expect it to clear your concrete the way commercial products or rock salt will. Mix equal parts vinegar and warm water and squeegee away the watery slush to prevent more slippery surfaces from forming.

Removing snow from your roof can help prevent ice dams, but the best thing to do is address insulation issues in your attic. If you do decide to remove the snow manually, you should always use a roof rake rather than a shovel. You shouldn’t climb your snowy roof in any circumstance, and roof rake allows you to remove the snow from the ground or a ladder. For the best results, remove snow as soon as possible after it falls.

That depends on the size of your snow blower and how efficiently it uses fuel. Most snow blowers will last between 1 and 2 hours on a full tank of gas. Larger blowers tend to use fuel more quickly and need refilling more often.

Keep in mind, the average snow blowing project for a home driveway takes around 30 minutes. Large driveways and yards will take around an hour. A full tank of gas should be more than enough for snow removal, although the height of the snowfall will have an effect, too.

While most people associate defrosting icy roads with salt, you can also use sugar for a similar result. Sugar lowers the freezing point of water, melting ice in a pinch.

However, sugar doesn’t melt ice as well as salt because it doesn’t separate the water molecules as efficiently. So, if you need to quickly melt a stubborn patch of ice on your driveway or walkway, it’s best to use salt over sugar for faster results.
