"The existing asphalt was taken out, new rock laid down and graded properly. After the rock cured new asphalt was installed and graded. A new larger drain was also installed at the bottom of the driveway for better drainage. The owner is very professional and communicates very well. Cleared garage doors, did not plow in anything I had already shoveled, and everything was cleaned to the blacktop. They would have cleared my walkways, but I opted out of that. "A beautiful job for a reasonable and fair price. For every part of the job, the crew came early in the morning and on time. The boss, Luis, always reported to the job site each day and inspected the work. Every part of these jobs was completed the way we had discussed, and, in fact, extra work was often done without any extra charge. For example, when the men dug out the soil around the cellar stair walls, Luis felt they had to go all the way down to the bottom--about six feet, instead of the 3 or 4 feet he had estimated, due to the poor condition of the walls--no extra charge. He did the same when he didn't like how the blacktop looked doing just the driveway in front of the garage and proceeded to redo the driveway perpendicular to it next to my fence--again, no extra charge. The same care for doing the job the right way was seen with the garage floor--instead of just repairing a length long crack on one side, Luis felt the entire section to the wall had to be removed and redone--again no extra charge.When I felt a detail wasn't carried out the right way, Luis listened and took care of it without any problem. The quality of their work is outstanding: for example, the seam of the garage cement floor met the new blacktop at the garage door perfectly. That's why I was happy to hire him again for the second job and why I recommended him to my next door neighbor. "Mission Impossible (transforming an overgrown narrow, rutted, rooty dirt path into a gorgeous 3-ft.-wide edged stone walkway with a small patio and entryway) is complete, and we could not be happier. The installation makes a design statement without in any way overwhelming our 1876 farmhouse—the stone is incredible, the work is artful and solid, and the project seems to grow out of the landscape, exactly what we wanted. The artistry and attention to detail in choosing/placing the stones elevates the installation to something truly special. Since our primary residence is 90 minutes away, we greatly appreciated the numerous photos, texts, and calls to update us on progress, as well as Rock 'N Garden's reliability, timeliness, and punctuality. At the end, the job site was left clean as a whistle. This is five-diamond work, and we have already contracted for another project on our property."

"We have a VERY long driveway and it has been gravel (barely) for the decade or so that we've owned the house. Started getting quotes for paving it, and was shocked that they were coming in at $3 per square foot (as a previous reviewer noted). From research, I knew it should be $2/sf, so we kept looking. Saw a beautiful newly-paved driveway nearby. That homeowner put us in touch with Rich Stanley, the third generation owner of this paving company. Rich came in at the right price and with a great can-do attitude. Took almost two full days to complete, but it is a work of great beauty. Smooth, wide, level -- our drive now looks like a gorgeous country lane. It was worth the wait to find the right company.  
Another reviewer was unhappy that Rich did not honor the 5% advertised discount. 5% of our bill would have been a lot of money, and since he was already giving us such a fair deal I didn't request that. What I did request was a couple of extras... a rounded turnaround instead of square.. a special "parking pad" for the trash cans... and another slight turnaround area to the side. Rich and crew happily accommodated.  A+ service.  Can't recommend them highly enough.

"I cannot express enough praise and appreciation for a job well done. The front of my house now looks beautiful. After removing the old asphalt driveway and concrete walkway and stoops, pavers were installed on the driveway with a Belgian block apron as well as pavers on the walkway with a darker color border around both. Two concrete stoops and stairs were rebuilt, expanding one and topping both with blue stone on top and stone veneer on the sides. Each step of the way, from proposal to completion, Alex was helpful, pleasant, polite, knowledgeable, honest, fair with pricing and a great communicator. His crew is very skilled, hard working and punctual - they cleaned up every day. I had interviewed and received quotes from 9 other contractors, and I am happy I decided on No. 10: Alex Masonry."
