"I hired Jeff to replace an exhaust fan in my upstairs bathroom. During our preliminary meeting, he provided me with the appropriate measurements to search for a replacement unit. The day the work was scheduled, he was on time.. overall I was very pleased with the results. Before leaving, I told him about a light fixture just outside the bathroom that wasnâ t working. He was able to identify the problem which turned out to be a defective switch. He had the part and was able to repair the light fixture for a small fee. He was very professional with the work he performed."

"it started off they came late from time indicated on my contract . removed exterior door . installed new door , thats when all the crap started . they placed the door with side light in the opening . before they secured the door they opened the door ,which causes the frame to reck. thats when they started to tell me the door has a manufacturer issue , and they are doing there best . they messed up and are blaming the maker. they worked on it and got it close still not the way it is supposed to be clean up and off they go now the send me an invoice $150.00 more than the quote , i question it and they tell me they had to use a couple cans of foam 1/2 a tube of silicon. that doesnt justify 150 dollars. then they say they worked 6 hrs insted of 5hrs set forth by the contract. one problem they started late and left well before the aloted 5 hrs . all that said nice guys . thats about it . now i have to hire a real professional to take the door out reset it in the frame and reinstall it. Surefireservices is committed to providing our customers with top quality services and we won't leave until customers is completely satisfied so call us for any of your electrical projects no matter how big or small.

"Owner came in and looked over the issue with my hot water. Gave me the real deal instead of overcharging me. Advised me it would be easier to replace it and then keep spending money on replacing the parts. Very responsibly priced, didn’t over charge. Was friendly and his worker were great. Bonus they fed my dog treats as they were working! Definitely recommend them."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

The most efficient ceiling fan height is 8 to 9 feet from the floor to the fan blades. For ceilings higher than 9 feet, a downrod can be used to lower the fan to the optimal height. This positioning ensures adequate air circulation and maximizes the cooling effect. Remember, fans should be installed at least 7 feet above the floor for safety.

Identifying the source of noises is your first step to soundproofing a room without overspending. Generally, sound comes from inside or outside of the house. Inside noises include creaking floors, living noises like TVs in the living room, cooking sounds, or kids being kids. External noises generally include incremental weather, disturbing neighbors, and street traffic. Inside noises require you to soundproof floors, ceilings, and doors, whereas outside noises may require you to soundproof your attic, windows, and walls facing the streets.

Essential tools for ceiling fan installation include a ladder, screwdriver, pliers, wire strippers, and a circuit tester. If the ceiling is angled or features unique configurations, ensure the availability of a compatible mounting bracket.

If you’re replacing an old fixture with a ceiling fan, you usually won’t need a permit, but if your electrician runs new wiring for the fixture, you likely will need a permit. Building permits are necessary in most municipalities if you’re making changes to your electrical system, so even if you have partial wiring run to the area and need new wiring installed for added functionality, you’ll probably need a permit. Your electrician should be able to let you know if you need one, and they’ll typically file the paperwork for you.

Ceiling fans provide a number of advantages for your home. They help circulate air throughout your home to avoid stagnant environments, and they can help lower utility bills if they keep you from switching on your air conditioning. Between built-in lighting and modern styling, ceiling fans can also add aesthetic appeal to your space.
