"Very pleased with the quality of the work. We ended up replacing most of our existing fence and the overall job turned out very nice. They were more reasonable than the other fencing contractors that we received bids from. Will hire again for other projects at our house."

"We were very happy with Addison Orr’s work. We admire his work ethic. This was a big job taking over a week and he showed up on time or early each day. He’s a very hard worker and worked long hours even when the weather was very cold and windy. We highly recommend him and will be hiring him in the future for more projects."

"I am very happy with the work that Mr. Fix it completed. They arrived on time and were thorough and had great communication with me. They reconfirmed all of the placing of the lights and went over the instructions for the ceiling fan remotes with me. I actually have another estimate for more work pending with them and plan on having them complete that as well. I will also recommend them to my friends."

"We had Todd come in and look at several items from the inspection report after we bought a new house. The work performed was prompt, professional and reasonably priced.
Todd's crew applied epoxy to seal the garage floor and install a vapor barrier in the crawl space. They also moved a heating vent for us as well.
We would have hired them to do more work for us, but given their prices and quality they are very busy!

Pole Barn Builders questions, answered by experts

After completing barndominium building projects in Reno, schedule final inspections with the Washoe County Building Department. During the first year, monitor the foundation through a freeze-thaw cycle and have the HVAC system serviced before summer. Ongoing actions include annual roof inspections after winter snow and bi-annual HVAC servicing to manage the impacts of dust and extreme desert temperatures.

Helpful?

To accommodate future expansion in Reno, barndominium building projects often include oversized electrical panels for future needs like EV charging and pre-planned utility rough-ins. Foundations are designed to support attached structures, and floor plans remain flexible. Builders also ensure compliance with Washoe County setback requirements and use engineered connections to prepare the structure for future lean-to additions or other modifications.

Helpful?

When performing barndominium building work in Reno, professionals prioritize structural integrity first due to seismic activity and snow loads. Next, they secure the weather envelope—foundation, roofing, and siding—to handle desert extremes. This is followed by installing proper insulation for energy efficiency, establishing utilities infrastructure, and implementing fire safety systems, which are critical due to wildfire risk in surrounding areas.

Helpful?

In Reno, signs of faulty work include foundation settling from freeze-thaw cycles and metal siding corrosion due to high UV exposure. Ice dams in winter or high cooling costs in summer point to insulation gaps. Critically, any work done without Washoe County permits or that fails to meet Nevada’s seismic requirements for Category D zones likely needs to be redone for safety and compliance.

Helpful?

Barndominium building work can impact other systems in your home in NV. Warning signs include frequent breaker trips, indicating electrical overload, or drops in water pressure, which may signal an overtaxed well system. An HVAC system that short cycles or fails to maintain temperature suggests insulation changes or ductwork issues. Any new foundation movement also warrants a professional structural assessment.
