"Casey had recently serviced my two units (see my prior review  5/29/13 A+) and then several weeks later I had water stains on the ceiling of my upstairs bedroom which I thought must be caused by a leak in the units on the roof right above the bedroom.  Casey checked on the roof and found no leaking and then tried to find a crawl space to an attic in my house so he could investigate further.  Turns out I have no attic. I recently had a new hot water system installed by LOWES so we concluded the leak must be caused by that. (The jury is still out on wether or not that is the problem.) Anyway, Casey was as helpful and courteous as he was on his first visit and he didn't charge me anything since he felt he hadn't helped me solve the problem. Very honest and helpful on both of his visits, I will request him on all future appointments. (I would've written this review sooner but I've been out of town.)"

Customers say: Quality work

"Got the job done right and fast. Definitely very expensive and it sucks pretty bad that the reverse osmosis system uses proprietary filters that are extremely difficult to change yourself but happy with the quality."

"Mr. Korth was able to advance the appointment time to the same day and tested the water softener, confirming our expectation of poor performance. We arranged to replace the old water softener the next day, which was done on the projected schedule, very quickly.

"WOW! What great customer service. Larry (owner) was prompt, professional, super nice!
Not only did he perform the water heater flush he checked all water sources and connections. Washer, water softener, water heater, toilets & sinks. Alerted me to possible future issues and what to keep my eye on.
Gave great advice about products & prices but There was no pressure and he never scared me into buying something.
Larry impressed me with his desire to be fair and honest. I have lived in Vegas 27 years and finding a service provider who is not out to rip you off is hard to find. He also charges at a flat rate and not by the hour. Another great way to know exactly how much a job will cost.
If I need a plumber I wouldn't hesitate to call Larry ( 2nd generation plumber) for great service at a fair price.

"I was very pleased with the service. The technician checked out my water softener and tested our water to make sure the softener was functioning as it should. He gladly answered some questions I had about water softeners. Afterwards he left me two bags of softener salt."

"This worked out ok. They were very punctual and I got what I wanted done.  They said I needed to buy a water softener and said that the faucet in the bathroom was going to go soon.    They were to put a new faucet in the kitchen and they couldn’t do it because it was a two holes faucet and there were three holes there. The guys were nice but I would not ever use them again. They were trying to sell me other things."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

A good hardness level for drinking water can vary based on personal preferences, but an ideal level is 3.5 to 7 GPG. This means your water isn’t soft or hard. However, some people prefer the “fresh” taste from the minerals in hard water, while others like the smoother, “slippery” texture of soft water.

The most effective way to fix hard water in your shower is by installing a whole-home water softening system. This system treats water as it enters your home, removing the minerals that cause hardness before they can reach your shower or any other fixtures. While this is the most comprehensive solution, other methods are often temporary fixes. For a more affordable and shower-specific option, you can install a water-softening showerhead or a shower filter. However, these filters are generally less effective and may not remove all the contaminants that lead to limescale and hard water stains. By implementing a water softening solution, you can expect a reduction in mineral deposits and enjoy the benefits of cleaner-feeling hair and skin.

Most of the U.S. has hard water, especially across portions of the West and Midwest. The areas with the hardest water include parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Illinois, North and South Dakota, Ohio, and New York. You’ll find soft water in parts of New England, the Southeast, the Pacific Northwest, and Hawaii.

Whether you need a license or permit for water softener installation depends on your location. Some municipalities require the installer to hold a plumbing license, while others may only require a permit and an inspection. In some cases, both a permit and a licensed installer are necessary, and some areas have no requirements at all. Often, only certified plumbers and electricians are allowed to pull the necessary permits. To find out the specific regulations in your area, you can contact your local building department. Alternatively, a local water softener installer or plumber will be familiar with the requirements and can typically pull the permits for you. Regardless of local laws, it is always recommended to hire a licensed professional to ensure the system is sized and installed correctly. You can use tools like Angi’s state licensing tool to verify an installer's license status.

Water softeners have many benefits. The most important one is converting previously hard water—water with too many minerals—to more usable, easier water. When we say easier water, we mean water that’s easier to digest, less harsh on skin and clothes, and builds up less in the water system. Softer water may lead to lower energy costs and will extend the lifespan of all appliances that use water.
