"After I was unable to get a response from Route 66 Plumbing for warranty work, I went to Angie's List and found Wilson Water Works with good reviews.  I soon got a call back from Leland, and after he realized my situation, gave me other references for the quick service I needed.  The plumber I used fixed a leaking shutoff valve in the yard the next afternoon, and charged a very reasonable rate.

Lubricate the circulating pump according to the manufacturer's instructions. Check the water level in the expansion tank and open the tank valve to drain it if it's more than half full.

Unless they are connected to the same system, boilers and water heaters will both need their own expansion tanks. The only case they wouldn’t have separate expansion tanks is if the boiler is pulling double duty and managing a heating system while also supplying hot water for a home. In which case, you may not need a hot water heater.

When it comes to bleeding a radiator, the goal is to let out trapped air rather than letting out the water. Naturally, some water will dribble out when you open the valve to let out the air. But you don’t want a lot of water to leak out. Just leave the valve open long enough that the hissing noise stops, meaning the air has escaped, and just a dribble of water comes out of the radiator.
