"Harmond helped me over video link to test the components in my broken refrigerator. The testing confirmed that it was the compressor that had failed. I purchased a new refrigerator because I decided it was not worth the cost to replace the compressor."

"Our refrigerator/freezer broke right before an event we were hosting at our home. My husband and I did not want to purchase a new one so we found Edwards Appliance Repair to help fix the issue. They were very responsive and easy to schedule! He was punctual and understood the urgency of needing it fixed right away. He explained what needed to be fixed and why and was in no way pushy, which I value. I loved how knowledgeable and friendly they were and I absolutely recommend using this repair company to anyone needing it. We have contacted him again, recently, to fix our dishwasher."

"It was the best experience I have ever had in working with someone off of home advisor or angies list. The recliner took him about 5 minues to assemble. I just needed someone to put the back of the recliner onto the base. He not only did that but made sure it worked as it is a powef recliner. After that he didn't even charge me! It didn't take long so he didn't feel right in charging me. He was very nice, wore a mask and had the knowledge to take care of the job quickly. I will be using him in the future for anything I need. I suggest you have your services performed by him also. You won't be sorry!"

Small jobs welcome

"I looked up companies on HomeAdvisor hoping to find an electrician. I called two and Schmidt answered immediately and spoke to me in such a professional and courteous manner that I scheduled them to come and do the repair. I was very pleased by the quality of the work, and the genuine customer service as since they finished rather quickly, they also repaired a light that I mentioned wasn't working in my hall. I will definitely be using Schmidt in the future and recommend them to anyone needing electrical work."

Boiler Repair questions, answered by experts

To bleed a radiator, first turn off the heat to the system. Then, lay a towel under the valve, open the bleed valve, wait 20 to 30 seconds for air to escape, and gently close the valve. You should repeat this process for every radiator you have in your home. Once your radiator valves have all been closed carefully, you can turn them back on.

Yes, many HVAC professionals offer emergency repair services for furnaces and other heating systems. These services are especially common during the winter and colder seasons when functional heating is crucial.

The primary differences between a heat pump and a boiler are their function and how they produce heat. A heat pump is a versatile system that provides both heating and cooling by moving ambient air and altering its temperature. In contrast, a boiler is solely a heating system, often working with a furnace or AC unit as part of a larger HVAC system. In terms of heat production, a heat pump generates heat more slowly and at a lower temperature, requiring a large convector for distribution. A boiler, however, produces a large amount of high-temperature heat that it emits through smaller radiators.

It takes about five to 10 minutes for heat to reach a radiator, then about one hour until the radiator fully heats up a room. The exact duration depends on the size of the room and how far away the radiator is from the boiler heating system. Heating up an entire house could take up to two hours.

An expansion tank must always be installed on the supply side, which is the side where the boiler sends water out to heat the systems. That placement allows the water to push against the air and condense properly as it is heated, then circulated through the system. Professional installers can recommend the best place on the supply side for an expansion tank.
