Then, I was promised a 2:00PM-5:00 PM Friday arrival 01/09/2026. Pablo, the technician, didn't show up until nearly 7:00 PM on a Friday night. I was grateful for this, but it gets worse from here. When Pablo finally arrived, it felt like a total scam. He admitted he could have installed a generic part to get our heat running, but since it was late on a Friday, he clearly just wanted to go home. He chose to leave my family in the cold rather than doing his job. ? The Dishonesty: To make matters worse, he didn't even provide an estimate that he said he would provide via email. "

FedEx tracking showed the package at their facility for 8 days without moving beginning on 10/15. Called FedEx 3 times. Each time they said they cannot find package and I have to contact shipper. Shipper has to make a claim, they will not mark it as lost. Called Appliance Parts Pros twice. Each time they say FedEx has to mark package lost before they will do anything. They also state they have to wait 14 days from them before doing anything because of their contract with FedEx. I don't care about their contract, I want what was ordered and paid for. Just going in circles with them and FedEX. If they shipped after 14 days it would be 22 days from that point, 32 days from the date of order if they shipped it that day. The DOE is phasing out AC units with SEER ratings that fall below 14 or 15. The exact minimum rating depends on your region. In the northern United States, new ACs must have a minimum SEER rating of 14, though you can still buy and install older systems as long as they were compliant when they were manufactured. Whether an HVAC damper should be open or closed depends on the season, the zone it controls, and the temperature in that zone. In the summer, open upstairs dampers and close lower-level dampers to get the most efficient cooling possible. In the winter, do the opposite. Cool air will naturally flow down to lower levels, while warm air will rise. This keeps your system from working harder and helps prevent common AC problems.

When the capacitor fails, the AC unit can’t operate at all. The most common sign is the thermostat forcing the blower to turn on, but it only circulates room-temperature air.
