"We had recessed lighting put in our kitchen ceiling. Holes were left in the ceiling when the old huge light fixture was taken down. The electricians, of course, do not do this type work. I contacted Mr. Mudd Drywall & Construction and they repaired the holes and installed a new ceiling to match existing "popcorn" ceiling in adjacent dining room. They did a beautiful job. We were impressed with their protection of our kitchen cabinets, furniture, etc. They worked quickly and efficiently and did a great job cleaning up afterwards. We highly recommend them."

"They came and did a drywall job from ceiling to floor in my bathroom remodel. After he had given a bid, we found that there was more work hidden behind the old bathroom walls. We worked out a reasonable price given the new work and extra materials that were needed. He had two men come in and do the work. It took two afternoons to finish, but they were hard workers who did a nice job blending the mudding to match the existing walls in the home. He used high quality cement board in the shower area and mold and mildew resistant drywall in the rest of the bathroom. We had a late start the first day, but he courteously called to tell me he was running about 45 minutes behind. They arrived the next day at the time I requested. I'm pleased with the work and their clean up efforts."

The installation looks great and we have not complaints.

The estimate was provided on schedule and was complete so there were no surprise costs later.  The work was scheduled to be done about a month later, and that schedule was met.

Mr. Jensen and his assistant were careful to lay drop clothes to protect the floor from all the debris tracked in and out of the house.  They also cleaned up after themselves at the end of each work day so that the house did not feel like a work zone in the evenings.

"This was a complete re-stucco following a botched job about five years ago by another company.  They also agreed to repair four outdoor drywall ceilings that were showing their 30+ years of age as well as damage caused by the previous stucco company..

Everything about BluSky was first-class from start to finish.  Owner Al did the quote himself, explained exactly what they would do, the approximate timing of the project and what I could expect when they were finished.  Al told me that when they were finished, the cleanup that they would do would make it seem as though they had never been here.  That was no exaggeration.  Two guys spent the last day doing a few patches and last-minute touchups but the rest of the day was devoted to cleaning every single window, screen, trim, wrought iron surface and, of course,  the ground itself.  They power-washed everything and by the time they left, it really WAS as though they had never even been here - aside from a first-rate stucco job and the drywall repairs mentioned earlier.
The drywall "repairs" went far beyond my expectations.  I thought they were just going to patch the ceilings as needed and then repaint.  Instead, they practically redid them completely.  They stripped off the all of old, applied several coats of joint compound, retextured it all and then repainted.   Amazing job.  It took two guys the better part of four days to complete the repairs - that's how thorough they were in both the actual work and, as with the stucco, the cleanup.
Based on my previous experience with other contractors (and the horror stories I've heard from others), BluSky's overall performance was unparalleled.   I highly recommend them with no reservations whatsoever.

"It was a shaky start with some unforeseen obstacles. However, after things settled down Bill got to work and met the deadline that I had originally set. The paint came out great. I needed 2 living rooms and a dining room painted, along with the ceilings in each room. They were able to complete everything in the timeframe given, even after my wife changed her mind on the one of the walls that had already been painted. I had movers coming the next day and Bill even offered to come back the day after the movers to fix any scuffs or scratches that occurred. If you are looking for a great finished paint job hire Bill."

Popcorn Ceilings questions, answered by experts

In most cases, it is worth removing popcorn ceilings because they are considered outdated and can make a home more difficult to sell. Buyers typically prefer a smooth, modern finish, so removing the texture can increase a home's value and appeal. The necessity can sometimes depend on the housing market; in a competitive market, buyers may be more willing to overlook minor renovations. The most critical factor is the potential presence of asbestos, which is common in older popcorn ceilings and poses a significant health hazard if the material deteriorates. If you know your ceiling contains asbestos, you are required to disclose this when selling, which can be a major deterrent for buyers. In this situation, it is highly recommended to have a professional remove or encapsulate the ceiling to resolve the issue before it impacts the sale.

Most handy homeowners can tackle removing texture from unpainted walls. Removing texture from painted walls is a bit trickier. Paint acts as a sealant, so you can’t soften the texture with water. Instead, you’ll have to add a layer of drywall compound known as a skim coat. This process is messy and takes some practice.

Yes. Sagging ceilings often indicate more severe problems, such as structural damage, roof leaks, and pest infestations. As the sagging expands, your ceiling may eventually collapse, posing a threat to your physical safety and leading to expensive repair and restoration costs. That’s why you need to fix sagging ceilings as soon as you notice them.

How long it takes to repair a ceiling depends on the extent of the damage. Patching a small hole might only take a few minutes, while repairing a water-damaged section of the ceiling could take hours. If there are structural issues, expect your ceiling repair to take several days or longer.

Because of the nature of the texture, it's common for the popcorn texture to loosen while painting. Popcorn ceilings are delicate, and using a heavy hand with a roller or applying overly wet paint can loosen the texture. To avoid a mess, handle the material gently with a roller or brush. It's also smart to test a small area first, and if the texture starts coming off, the ceiling may need repairs or sealing before painting.
