Residential Window Film not only gives that extra protection but it also reduces your energy bill. We at New Mexico Tint understand the importance of protecting your home and we can also help you make your house energy efficient.

"Pretty expensive and there was some miscommunication that didn't get resolved by the manager but the work is high quality. I paid $400 for a tint job for a small mazda3 sedan and $1,000 for paint protection that ended up only covering a foot off the hood. I was told the hood and the bumper would be $900 and if I paid $100 more I could get the deluxe package that covered the hood, bumper, fenders and mirrors. Turns out it's not the whole hood only a foot up and even parts of the bumper were missing and about 25% of the fenders are covered. I would need to spend more after it was already done to finish it and figure this place is just way too expensive compared to the competition. I'll take my business elsewhere in the future."

Installing tinting on your own home windows is possible, but not recommended. It’s very easy to make mistakes that leave visible bubbles or imperfections in the protective coating. If you attempt the application yourself and mess up, you’ll pay more for the wasted material and the labor to hire a tinting professional to fix the issues.

Clean with non-abrasive cleaners and a soft cloth, avoiding ammonia-based products that can degrade the film.

Tinting your windows can be more energy-efficient, allowing your home to better block out the sun’s heat in warmer months and retain heat in the cooler months. It also blocks harmful UV rays, keeping your family and pets safe from sun damage. Tinting windows keeps your furniture color from fading in the sun, as well.

Window tinting also makes it more difficult for passersby to see in your windows, giving you better privacy. Some window films and tinted glass options even help your windows better withstand trauma and avoid cracking from any attempted break-ins or bad weather.

If you have bubble wrap lying around the house and you don’t care about the odd look, taping bubble wrap over a window is a very affordable way to insulate it. Another inexpensive option for insulating windows is to add new caulk around the glass. This step quickly cuts down on air drafts for older windows, and a tube of caulk only costs a few dollars. Adding plastic shrink film around the glass is another cost-effective option. You can purchase a kit of plastic film for a few dollars per window.

Do not use Windex or any glass cleaner when applying window film. These products contain ammonia, which will damage the film. Instead, use the application solution provided with the installation kit. If there is no solution, make your own using 1 teaspoon of baby shampoo and a gallon of bottled water.
