"Brian and his crew were very professional and knew what needed to be done. The concrete was the best, after the cutting at this point no cracks. I would suggest that they invest in a better method of applying the stain. I did have areas that were noticeable that stain did not take. I paid extra for more stain outside of the contact. One spot was in our doorway. The reason I took a star, I did not appreciate that all the trash and empty stain bottles were thrown in our trash that filled it to the top. You have to be careful what is thrown away."

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

In Alamogordo, if you notice cracks reappearing in the same spots, repair patches that have faded from strong UV exposure, or crumbling edges after temperature swings, it may be time to redo the work. Repairs that fail after heavy monsoon rains or show separation between old and new concrete often mean the materials or methods weren’t suited for Alamogordo’s soil and weather conditions.

Helpful?

If your Alamogordo home shows cracks wider than 1/4 inch, uneven walkways, or flaking surfaces from the intense sun, it’s time to consider concrete repair. Homes built on caliche or expansive clay soils, common in Alamogordo, are especially vulnerable after monsoon rains. Addressing these issues early can help prevent water intrusion and more serious foundation problems unique to the local climate.

Helpful?

For minor cracks or small surface damage in your Alamogordo home, use a polyurethane sealant rated for desert climates and work during cooler morning hours. Wear sun protection and a dust mask, especially if winds are high. If you notice cracks near the foundation, signs of shifting after monsoon rains, or issues close to utility lines, it’s best to contact a local professional familiar with Alamogordo’s unique conditions.

Helpful?

For concrete repair in Alamogordo, schedule work during spring or fall to avoid extreme heat and monsoon storms. Check with local authorities about permit requirements and choose materials designed for high UV and temperature fluctuations. Test your soil for stability, plan for proper drainage, and ensure adequate water for curing. Careful site preparation and timing help ensure repairs last in Alamogordo’s desert environment.

Helpful?

Before starting concrete repair in Alamogordo, identify the locations of underground utilities like water, propane, or electrical lines, especially if you have irrigation or outdoor lighting. Repairs near foundations or septic systems can impact drainage and stability, particularly on properties with expansive soils. Consider how the work might affect landscaping or solar panel wiring, both common features in Alamogordo homes.
