It wasnt done properly. They never showed us the 30 gallon of seal that they purchased. I spoke with the company and they said it should have used about 5 gallons.

the job was completed by 2 men but the fence & gate are not lined up straight; more of a zigzag & gate did not close properly so I had to have someone else redo the gate closure. They did not use a plumb line; just eyeballed it... Luckily it's in my backyard so not many people see it. At least they got the job done quickly right after I moved into my new home & needed a safe place to keep our dogs.

First of all, most contractors give you an estimate without charging, and this really was nothing more than that.  When he looked at the area to be remodeled, he gave me many more options than in the final plans, and it wasn't what I needed.

SMRT Construction Services Inc. didn’t do the work themselves, they subcontracted it out.  Sam and Bill were the names of the gentlemen that were sent out to do the work.    They actually didn’t finish what they said they were going to do. They did some plumbing work for me and some work up on the roof.  They also installed a doggie door, but they never came back and finished the detailing on that. It caused some damage to the stucco, so they were going to repair that and paint the baseboards that they had to put in where the doggie doors were set, but they never came back.   As far as the roof, they went up and did what they were supposed to and I haven’t had any leaks.  They cleared the line for me for the ice maker and I haven’t had any problems with that either, but they didn’t follow through with the doggie door.  I am not particularly thrilled with them.  I paid $99.00 for three hours of work, 1.5 hours for two guys, which was an ok price, but since they didn't follow through and complete the job I feel that the work was unsatisfactory overall.

The section was replaced well, but the texture doesn't match the surrounding wall very well. I think it may look better if I sand it and repaint, but I think they should have done a better job.

I wish that they had told me not to do it at all. They worked really hard, but they were not able to get it done. I did not know that it would cost so much to do the whole deck. It did not get the whole thing done. I was more preventative and they only did half of it. I did not know that it was going to take so long. I was only able to get half of it done, they did do what was said in the advertisement. I could not afford to have the rest of it done. It has been too difficult to deal with. I did pay for a couple of extra hours. They came out a couple of weeks after I made the purchase. The quality was good for what they were supposed to do.

When I called them, they told me that they couldn't make 2 trips to my house because it cut into the cost (although I told them  I wasn't sure what I needed to fix up my deck). When they got to my house, they told me that I needed to go to Lowes and buy the sealant.  They told me what to buy and how much. I had to leave them alone in my house while I went to pick it up. They put in some screws while I was gone and then painted the deck with the sealant. I guess I would have done it myself and saved a lot of money if I would have known what my deck needed.  The deck hadn't been cleaned prior to the sealant but I only had them for the one afternoon and so I  had to have them do it then. The job itself was done OK.  I learned that if I do something like this again, I will make sure that I know exactly what I need and have the right materials and see what's involved in the labor.  Actually, I will just do it myself and save the money.

The service provided was okay. I would marginally recommend them. The thing I disliked about is that the offer was four hours for one man or two hours for two men. So they sent two men and so they meant two hours. But the other guy just stood around and didn't do anything. He mixed up some mud for the drywaller and he didn't do anything else. I thought that was a way to get around four hours of work. They were able to complete the work in two hours because it was not a very big job. While one man was doing one part, cause I have three places that needed repair, I thought man should have been working on the other part but that's not the way. It was a good price for the deal. They responded pretty quickly.

Two workers, Sam and Billy, were very nice and came to my house as planned. However, I was very disappointed because they could not do the job. They said they were not told what the job was, nor were they told to bring the big trailer truck as promised by the owner. I told Sam and Billy I had mentioned to the owner on the phone the job was to clean out my garage, and the owner said he had a big trailer truck to take items to the dump. After Sam and Billy left without being able to do the job, I emailed the owner. I told him I was very upset because this project was important due to the house being put on the market. I now was way behind schedule. Finally, Billy did come the next day to complete the job, but still did not have the trailer. He had to use the back of his personal work truck, which was quite small, to haul the trash. Plus, after Billy left, several heavy items were left outside of the garage and I had to put them back inside myself. Not to mention the fact there was a broken wheel barrow Billy just left without taking it to the dump.

I was impressed that the provider contacted us after we purchased our Angie's List deal, before we got around to making the call to the provider.

Overall I am the most dissapointed of any Angie's List purchase that I have made in the past. Both occations were for work on Drywall. On was for 4 simple holes with original drywall cutouts provided and one from some water damage which included wall and ceiling work in a bedroom (This is one i recommended to my co-worker before the work was done at my house, based on the reviews here which were good at the time of my purchase). The company sent some workers, whom I can only assume were hired to help with Angie's List orders. They showed up to drywall work (the same guys both times) for patching a ceiling, in a car and without a ladder. When they brought a sheet of drywall to the second job which required new drywall they cut it in HALF because they had a car, the job did NOT require this and it looks horrible with a splice for NO good reason in the ceiling. The work in both situations was shoddy at best. It was poor craftsmanship and I will never go back to this company again. Not only was it poor craftsmanship, but when asked why it looked that way the response was in both situations it will look fine when its painted. Well it has been a couple weeks now and i can tell you it does not look fine, and I waited for the owner or a manager to call me back especially when dispatching these guys to my house instead of himself and not telling me when i scheduled the work to be done this was the case. I was hoping to get a "How did my crew do at your job?" or a "Where you satisfied with our businesses work?". I got no such phone call, and as such I will never recommend them for work and I will leave this review as a warning to others that this business is not one that I can endorse or recommend in any way. The last straw was that at the second location, one of the workers spilled an entire 44 Oz coke on the bedroom carpet, and didnt say anything until confronted about it hours later...

I made the appointment to redeem my Big Deal with no problem.  Even so, no one showed up at the appointed time.  A half hour after the service provider was to arrive, I called the owner, Michael Ortiz, who apologized and got off the phone to call his crew.  He called me back in a few minutes, and said that he would personally come over and do the job himself.  He arrived promptly 20 minutes later and swiftly and expertly completed my drywall repair job.  He was very professional and courteous.  I will use hime again.

We had some problems arranging the service in terms of times and dates - I'd taken a day off to be at home when they came to do the work and was orginally scheduled early in the morning. By the time it looked like they'd actually arrive it was late afternoon so we rescheduled for another day (and another vacation day from work for me). We had some discussion about the work needed and I mentioned that i had two large holes that would need pieces of sheetrock to replace and they say they'd bring it when they came. Two weeks later they seemed to have no recollection of the conversation and so the two large holes remain unrepaired. That said, the rest of the work was done fairly well - they definitely invested the man-hours promised in the coupon I bought and the work that was done was of average quality in my estimation. The most compelling reason for me to be satisfied with this work was the price - it was an average job for a below average price.

The worker was punctual and we first looked over the fence together and decided which pickets needed replacing.  Then we went to Home Depot and selected the newpickets together.  Then returned and he went to work and worked through the day until 8pm to complete the job.  The workman was professional and worked hard.  I had him return for a separate charge to haul away the old pickets.

Medicore. This is the second deal of this kind I've tried (x hours for Y $). It's not such a great deal and this contractor was not ideal. The worker who was sent to complete the deal was very polite, but poorly prepared and without a drop cloth or a ladder. Wish I had insisted on putting down some protection on the floor, because I had to clean up stains in the carpet afterwards. I was satisfied with the 30 minutes of work he performed. A unskilled helper accompanied him. Because there were two workers, I was told I would get my four hours in just two hours. After 30 minutes of work and 30 minutes waiting for mud to dry,  the worker suggested they return to do some texture work. This was fine with me, but then he misrepresented (to his boss) the amount of time he and his companion had been here working. The contractor offered to do the texturing, but suggested I had just about used up the 4 hours of the deal. At that point point I decided to call it quits. I cannot recommend this kind of deal, unless you're certain you have 4 hours of work. Even then, it is sometimes a little challenge to get your value out of the deal. Obviously, contractors are looking to get into your house and quickly engage you in further work. The deal may be a good way to "preview" contractors. I can't recommend this one.
