Aqua Pool provides total and distinctive outdoor living space transformations. Respected as one of New England’s premier inground Gunite pool and spa companies, Aqua Pool has been enhancing the value of finer homes throughout Connecticut, western New England and eastern New York for over 43 years.

"We were their second pool dig of 2021. The plaster has failed, the site a mess, contract line items not fulfilled, and my favorite “sorry they’re with a customer” when we call. Apparently they pick and choose which customers matter and I must assume those are the ones that still have remaining balances. We even threatened to withhold money and go through arbitration to which Jason responded “you’ll lose”. We now call daily looking to have the plaster fixed and Gianna passes us to voicemail saying Debbie and Grant are busy with customers. Chuck will eventually take the call and say they’re working on it trying to contact Bella Pool Plaster out of New York and that they will be in touch(interesting that this has taken over 3 months with zero rectification as Gianna proudly boasted they service 30 pools a day). This is 3 months of non stop calling and emailing on our end and they take the same approach, essentially hoping we’ll tucker out and accept their poor performance as they already have all their money."

We provide design/build services for new swimming pools, ponds, spas and waterfeatures throughout the MidAtlantic States and the NorthEast States. We provide service/repair on pools and spas throughout northern New Jersey Our retail stores in Hackettstown, NJ and Chester, NJ provide a full line of pool/spa chemicals, parts and supplies, toys and games, as well as backyard leisure accessories.

"Besides being way overpriced versus the competition, this is not my issue. That said they did absolutely nothing more then the other pool company I use does for twice the price. I contacted them last year after my closing from another local company to discuss leak detection. I spoke and emailed with the service manager "Ed" and we set up a plan. I was to have them open the pool very early, which was completed in March so they would have a jump on the leak detection process. I missed that the opening does not include removing the cover. This was an additional charge. So what is their definition of an opening? It was always included with the other vendor. Oh well lesson learned. A week later the technician arrived with a helper to begin the leak detection process. Part of was disconnecting the manifold between the 5 input lines/pump and pressure testing 4 of them. Upon reconnecting the manifold for some reason he used channel locks on a fitting clearly labelled "Hand Tighten Only". This caused the fitting to crack and he spent the next hour repairing this damage. (I saw all this happen) Of course I was charged for this time even though there was no issue until they cranked down on the coupling. Clearly during all the work around the pump they knocked around the unused and disconnected Polaris pipe which subsequently caused a new leak at a 90 degree elbow. Since Rin Robin was new to me I did document the pump house via a video with the pump running prior to this visit..Just in case, so I have a pre visit video and post visit video of the pump house with the pump running. No leaks versus numerous leaks post the service. Then he removed two fittings at the output manifold for some reason as the other two are hard glued and there was no reason whatsoever to undo these. Again pulled out the channel lock pliers to tighten these couplings. He determined he would need to modify this area to allow for the manifold to be disconnected so the individual lines can be pressure tested and said they would send an estimate. I was fine with this. Subsequently these also leaked when the pump ran. After many contacts asking them to come back and correct these newly created issues the technician finally stopped by. At one point they were requesting a credit card number for the new service visit, TO CORRECT THE LEAKS THEY CREATED!!!! I said absolutely not. Again he pulled out the channel lock pliers and snugged up the two pressure side fittings, both labelled "Hand Tighten Only". Incidentally the correct repair would have been simply to replace the old "O" rings and hand tighten the couplings. He also took pictures of the leak at the 90 degree union and stated although it is a quick-simple repair, he would need permission from the owner before he could repair it. He felt it would take about 10 minutes. Subsequently two weeks after this visit i sent an email looking for an update. I was met with a return email stating that they no longer wanted to pursue this job or my business. Clearly they do NOT stand behind the work. OK fine, I do not want to use Rin Robin either, but what about the repair of the new leak they caused??? Stay far away from this company."

Pool Construction and Installation questions, answered by experts

Mesh and tempered glass are both very safe pool fencing options because they’re difficult to climb. You might also want to consider installing a pool safety net, and always make sure your pool is maintained properly. You could even consider a swimming pool enclosure that surrounds the pool on all sides.

The regulations for pool fence heights vary by state, so be sure to research what the legal, minimum height is in your area before purchasing or installing a fence. Though every region is different, generally a pool fence must be at least 4 and ½ feet high. If you’re unsure whether you need a fence around your pool, and how high that fence should be, contact a local pool enclosure expert to help you successfully, and safely, move forward.

The life span of a screen on a pool cage depends on the material used:

  • Fiberglass screens last from 10 to 15 years.

  • Aluminum screens last 15 to 20 years.

  • Polyester screens last 20 to 30 years.

  • Stainless steel screens last 30 years or more.

A pool enclosure could be a great decision if you’re considering dedicating funds toward pool remodeling costs. Pool enclosures offer benefits like enhanced security and keeping out dirt, debris, dust, and insects—which helps reduce the maintenance and cleaning needed—and uninvited animals and trespassers. Your enclosure can also provide extra shade and UV protection to make your pool time more enjoyable. In some cases, your pool enclosure may increase your home’s value.

The best way to heat a swimming pool depends on your pool and location. Those living in sunny environments may find that a solar-powered heater works just fine, but you may need something more reliable, like a gas or electric heater if it’s often cloudy where you live. When in doubt, try a few lower-cost options first to see if they meet your needs before going all in on a more expensive heater.
