"We called Heartland Handyman Services for what we thought was just to paint 2 rooms. Javier showed us there was much more involved. With little to no effort at all, he showed us that the room's window was not seated and secure. The window sill came off with a little tug. Inside the wall were signs of water leaks. In the other room, the floor had been damaged and since it could not bear any weight, we could step through the floor. Heartland had to open up the outside siding, repair the exterior wall, reseal the siding, reseat the windows, insulate the walls, besides the original plan to paint the 2 rooms. He also had to reinforce the outer wall, repair the underflooring and install a new floor."

"Ernie did an awesome job! I had an issue where the siding was coming off the house. I had a few people come in and give estimates. Each one wanted to nail the bottom back in and leave the rest of it when the proper way to do it was to take everything down and put it back up which is exactly what Ernie and his crew did. I would use them again and recommend them for any roofing or siding project needed."

"Enri from Priority One has helped restoring various projects: replaced damaged vinyl siding, rewrapped the fracia board damaged due to recent wind storm, replaced the garage front with excellent workmanship, chimney repair; roof cap repair. This is our first time but we'd highly recommend them, very professional, know what they are doing, we are very pleased with the result, will hire them again."

"I chose to use ETC because when they came to estimate, Eddy seemed very knowledgable, listened to my concerns, and addressed every one of them.  I was hesitant to hire him for the whole job, so he agreed to plaster and paint the master bedroom before proceeding with the whole job.  Once I saw the quality of his work, I hired them immediately.  And I was not disappointed in my decision.
Of course, the main goal was a great job, which I got.  The plaster work is impeccable.  They had to actually dig out an existing bad plaster job and redo it in the living room which they did without complaint.  They then painted every room in  my house.
Additionally, they sheet rocked a wall that needed to be finished from a previous job (different contractor) and tiled the remainder the room.
Ok, so I got a great job.  To add icing on the cake, I got it from a crew of honest, reliable, pleasant people.  As the last reviewer said, they did not cut corners and  they left the house cleaner than how they got it.  I cannot recommend Eddy and his crew highly enough.  It was a great experience.

Siding questions, answered by experts

Yes, new stucco siding can increase your home's value and curb appeal, similar to other new siding materials. Homeowners can expect an average return on investment (ROI) of around 70%. For an average stucco installation costing $5,700, this can translate to a value increase of nearly $4,000. The value can be further enhanced by choosing high-end textures or simulating more expensive materials like brick. Stucco is also a durable, fire-resistant, and versatile material that can last 50 years or more, making it an attractive feature for potential buyers, especially in hotter climates where its insulating properties are beneficial.

Stucco is considered a type of cladding because it includes a built-in ventilation layer, a weatherproof membrane beneath that, and, often, a layer of insulation to improve building efficiency. The multiple layers of stucco—the scratch coat, the brown coat, and the finish coat—also create a more complex building membrane, so it’s more accurate to call it cladding. However, homeowners and contractors alike refer to stucco as siding.

Wood clapboard siding needs frequent sealing to keep it in top condition—likely every two to three years. A sealant helps protect it from both moisture and sunlight damage. Your weather and climate will affect how often you need to seal the siding, but the pros recommend sealing it every couple of years. More durable woods in milder climates may not need to be sealed quite as often.

Yes, you can shou sugi ban existing siding, but it might pose a hazard to wooden structures, shouldn’t involve treated wood, and must be done by a siding professional. You can not char wood on a house without first removing the boards, so it’s a more complicated replacement project than other siding types.

Regularly clean with mild detergent, inspect for cracks, and replace damaged sections as needed.
