"Nick came to my house and I had other electricians come to give me a quote but Kingdom Electric was the only company that went into full detail and made sure that I was getting my moneys worth they gave me all the best products they did not cheap out on anything and gave me the most customer satisfaction. I deserved for the price I paid I really have to say that Kingdom Electric leave went above and beyond for my electrical needs that I needed done in my house they did not try to sell me anything extra and two other companies told me that I needed something done and Nick said that it did not that it was up to code and it was fine the truth goes a long way."

"Garrett is an upfront, honest, extremely knowledgeable and trustworthy electrician. It is important to have someone you can trust in your home. Very professional. Stop hiring these lowballing "contractors" that are not trained, licensed, or insured. Electrician work is NOTHING to mess around with. You cannot put a price on safety. You will not be disappointed with Bayard Electric."

"Scott came out after normal work hours to repair our generator which failed to start following a potentially lengthy outage. He was polite, professional, and took care of business in a thorough, rapid manner. I would highly recommend Scott's Electrical Service for generator repairs or any other electrical needs."

"We have been very pleased to use Raynor Services for installing new outlets in our home as well as yearly service to our heating system and electrical inspection of our electrical systems. Bob E. just left after inspecting our electric and offering some options for projects we plan next spring. The attention to customer satisfaction from Raynor has been exemplary. We can always reach a live polite person by phone, receive immediate attention, and on-time respectful technicians that clean up after they are done working. Bob E. was professional and yet cheerful and friendly in explaining options and costs to me this morning. Who could ask for anything more? We do pay $19 per month to insure our HVAC and electrical systems are safe and effective. Raynor is our trusted "go-to" company."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

The easiest way to determine the amperage of your electrical outlets is to check the corresponding breaker in your home’s breaker panel. The number is likely noted on the circuit breaker. If that fails, it’s possible to tell 15-amp and 20-amp outlets apart by looking at them. Fifteen-amp outlets have two vertical holes, while 20-amp outlets have one vertical hole and one T-shaped hole.

Unless you’re a licensed electrician with extensive experience in upgrading electric panels, you must hire a professional for any electrical work. A licensed electrician will make sure your breaker is upgraded safely and in compliance with local codes. Your pro will also take care of any permits and inspections that are needed.

If you have a tank-type electric water heater, it runs regularly to keep the water at the desired temperature. If you live in a home where you don’t use much hot water, it could seem wasteful to run power to heat water that you’re using infrequently. You could save some power by using a smaller tank, insulating the tank, or lowering the temperature of the water heater.

While the line can't be removed, a pro can place a cap on the end to stop leaks. Contact a pro for a service call and speak with them about the related costs of either capping or removing the line altogether. Capping a gas line will cost between $75 and $150 while removing it will start at $250.

Hiring a professional electrician to wire a house costs anywhere from $1,500 to $10,000 or more depending on the size and complexity of the project. Most professional electricians charge $50 to $100 per hour. While the extra expense is significant, it’s worth it to ensure the safety of your home’s electrical system.
