"There is a $50 fee for on-site quotation which is waived if you hire them to do the job. Juan, the plumber, and his assistant came within one hour and gave a reasonable quote. I accepted it. They replaced about a foot of pipe with a technical they called pressure fit. No soldering was needed. They cleaned up the water after work. The whole process was done in 30 minutes."

"Fast, Clean, Efficient, Feasible! This is an easy review to write when you have a professional on the job. Titan Plumbing Sewer & Drain was on site ready to swap out our old tank and install the new one. Also, was aware of new housing codes and installed an Expansion Tank. He could of easily changed the thermocouple just to get by but did not recommend doing so on a 10+ unit. Do it right once and call Titan Plumbing Sewer & Drain. We were so happy with their service! Easy to recommend them"

Customers say: Quick response

"Mark came and saved the day today. My bathroom sink and tub were not draining - when I ran the bathroom sink, water started flowing up from the drain in the bath tub. I had no idea what to expect, but expected the worst. Earlier, I had a Big Name plumbing company come, they supposedly 'snaked' the tub drain, but within a minute was telling me the drain pipe was corroded, that it was completely blocked, and we would need to replace the pipe and it would be thousands. Thank goodness my gut told me to get another opinion - In comes Scala's Sewer & Drain Cleaning, and Mark came within a half hour. He came in, looked at the situation, and confidently said "I'll have that unclogged for you" - the stress lifted from our shoulders. A very pleasant person who took the time to explain everything and even provide some helpful tips for upkeep, he worked quickly, efficiently , and neatly - Mark had the pipes flowing again. 10/10 would highly recommend!"

"I had a clogged basement bathroom drain that another company was unable to fully resolve. I called 123 Sewer & Drain, and Mohamed came out on a Sunday morning. He accessed the line from the basement toilet flange and found multiple clogs that had not been fully cleared. What stood out was his thoroughness. He kept working until the line was fully cleared, then tested everything multiple times. He left the cleanout open and had me run all upstairs faucets and flush toilets to confirm that water was flowing properly to the sewer before wrapping up. Everything was done the right way — no shortcuts and no upselling, just a straightforward and professional approach. It’s refreshing to work with someone who takes the time to do the job right and makes sure everything is fully working before leaving. The issue has been completely resolved. I would absolutely use them again and highly recommend their services."

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Routine plumbing maintenance involves flushing your water heater annually to clear sediment buildup caused by local mineral hardness. Winterize exterior pipes and check insulation in unheated spaces before the Hackensack freeze season. Test your sump pump and battery backup every spring to handle high water tables. Snaking older sewer laterals clears invasive tree roots. Additionally, New Jersey requires annual testing for backflow prevention devices on irrigation systems.

Helpful?

Start by confirming your home's construction year, which predicts pipe materials like lead, galvanized steel, or copper. Check municipal records for permit history to identify unapproved modifications. Verify your flood zone designation to guide basement plumbing and sump pump placement. You must also determine your lead service line status under New Jersey law. Finally, confirm your connection status to the local sewer system before starting any drain projects in Hackensack.

Helpful?

Schedule plumbing before the first freeze to insulate pipes and winterize outdoor spigots. After a harsh Hackensack winter, inspect lines for cracks or joint separations. Spring snowmelt requires testing your sump pump to prevent basement flooding. A noticeable drop in water pressure following a municipal water quality notice also signals the need for an immediate inspection. Finally, homes built before 1986 require evaluations for lead service lines.

Helpful?

Always obtain a final inspection to officially close your permits, as open permits complicate future real estate transactions. Notify local authorities if you replaced a lead service line or altered a sewer lateral. Test your water quality after replacing older pipes to confirm safety. Finally, document all completed plumbing for your records and schedule a pre-winter inspection to ensure newly exposed pipes withstand the Hackensack cold.

Helpful?

Look for discolored water, reduced pressure, or corrosion, which point to aging galvanized or lead pipes common in Hackensack. Inspect basements for mold or corroded fittings from hasty flood repairs. Mismatched materials or improper venting signal unpermitted plumbing that fails to meet state standards. Check uninsulated spaces for cracked pipes caused by harsh New Jersey winters. Addressing these issues immediately protects your home from severe water damage.
