Customers say: Quick response

"We made the right decision to hire Bill based on the excellent reviews here and on his quote being a couple thousand dollars below another contractor. Bill is very experienced and knowledgeable about everything that goes into septic systems: the engineering plan, installation, supplies, working with other contractors, inspections, etc. He'll answer your questions and explain any portion of the process. He's honest, trustworthy, and hard-working, which is extremely important for a big and expensive job like this. When Mother Nature threw us multiple days of rain he worked weekends to keep the project moving. He handled all of the coordination to get contractors in for tank pumping, dirt removal, and inspections. All we had to do was sit back and let him do his job. Thanks, Bill!"

"Dave Polo has a great online scheduling system, that makes it very easy for see his availabilty and his prices. The price above included a septic tank inspection by BeachStone Septic Corporation that Dave engaged and who were also very professional, very through and a great source of information. Dave was very thorough, we began on the roof and then worked ourselves around the outside of the house. We took notes as he mentioned things and he used his handy recorder to help him with his notes to put into the report. Our house has 3000 sq. ft and I feel confident that he covered much of that area. He was very thorough - looking high and looking low, pointing out the good, the bad and the things for us to improve the condition of the house. His report was about 8-9 pages and very detailed. It was a great source to go back to the sellers and asked for the significant things to be addressed or help us with some $$$."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

Yes, experts handle manual pumping, chemical flushing, and equipment use properly, ensuring thorough cleaning and legal compliance with disposal regulations.

Although air in your water lines won’t affect the overall quality of your water, it will lead to problems with your well water system if not addressed. Over time, too much air in your water lines can create blockages in your pipes, cause insufficient water flow to your taps and appliances, loosen pipes, and potentially damage important components of your well including your well pump and pressure tank.

The easiest thing you can do to prolong the life of your septic system is to adopt septic-safe practices. This includes not flushing non-biodegradable items, chemicals, or excessive grease down drains and scheduling regular septic tank pumping to prevent buildup. It’s also important to fix plumbing leaks promptly and to practice water conservation to avoid overloading the system. To maintain your drain field, avoid heavy vehicle traffic and plant shallow-rooted vegetation in the area. Most importantly, invest in routine inspections and maintenance to detect and address issues early.

It only takes a few days for a septic tank to fill with water after a pro has pumped it. This is completely normal, and the water is a vital part of your septic system’s wastewater treatment process. The water that fills your tank days after pumping is not the same as the tank being filled with waste. You shouldn’t have to pump your septic system more than once every three to five years unless you have a tank that’s too small for your home’s water output or there’s a problem with your leach field.

There should be a red button or an on/off switch on or in your box. Press the button or flip the switch, then turn it back on by doing the same action again. If this doesn’t work, reset the breakers inside the box by flipping them off and back on again. After this, your alarm should stay off if there’s nothing wrong with your system. However, if the alarm is still sounding and there’s still a red light on, it’s time to call a pro for a diagnosis.
