"We needed our boiler replaced and had multiple companies come and look at the job. We ended up selecting Sila as we read good reviews on the company. Sila surpassed our expectations. The tech who performed the install (Gage) was on time, communicated the entire process to us from start to finish and did a tremendous job. He also made sure to clean up afterwards and was very professional. We would absolutely hire Sila again!"

"Joyce Cooling and Heating installed a new high-efficiency Lennox furnace and air conditioner. The installation looks great and was professionally completed. The furnace is working fantastic and is so quiet we can't even hear it running. We are warm and comfortable all the time and the new high-efficiency design should save us money for many years to come. The technicians answered all of my numerous questions."

Customers say: Quick response

"Brian at Clear All was recommended by a friend and they lived up to the recommendation and beyond. Helped trouble shoot a broken boiler for my in-laws and once he saw it he highly recommended replacing the boiler. I knew this was not an up-sell as the boiler was in very rough shape. While the new boiler was obviously more expensive then the repair, the price quoted for the boiler, burner, install, and removal of the old system was very fair - too good to pass up and risk throwing good money at bad with a repair on a 20+ year old boiler. Contacted them on a Monday, Brian showed up on that Wednesday to assess the situation and the new boiler was installed and running by 5 pm Thursday. He kept me in the loop through the whole process even though it was my in-laws boiler install. He also took the time to evaluate the size of the house and recommended a much smaller boiler - the existing one was way oversized and therefore over-using heating oil."

"We had been considering replacement of our ancient, dust-collecting, rusty-looking, hot water radiators which heated our home well, but somewhat unevenly, in our 1929 Dutch Colonial. We also wanted to move away from window air conditioning units that had to be put in and taken out each season and finally move into the world of central air. I looked into conventional central a/c and heating and the quotes I got were more expensive or equal in price and because the required large ductwork would practically eliminate my already pathetic closet space and be much, much more invasive. So HVSD was definitely the only viable way for us to proceed, if at all. I remembered hearing about HVSD at a wedding years ago from my husband's colleague who had used Climate Technologies for installations in 2 different homes and he couldn't stop talking about how great it was. (Since then he's had it done in a 3rd home, too.) Fast forward to 2008 when I've finally saved enough money to consider having the work done. I asked my husband to get the name of this contractor and it was Don Martin at Climate Technologies. I contacted them in mid-April of 2008 and Steve Martin came out within a day or so. I signed a contract at the end of April and they came to do the job in early May 2008. Although I had good recommendation on which to base this decision, I was reluctant to do the whole house all at once, because I still worried about the potential for noise/loudness of the HVSD and if we would be happy, which is why I only contracted for the upper floor. I wanted a soup to nuts job (removal of my aforementioned humongous radiators, electrical, central heat and a/c, air filtration for my child with seasonal allergies, etc.). The work took a day or so longer than I thought it would, but that can be partly attributed to them not doing something invasive, which they avoided by thinking outside the box--in this particular case, running a drainage pipe so it would flow into my gutter, instead of a quicker, uglier solution. I did not submit this report earlier because although we used our a/c over the summer, I wanted to test my heat during the first winter, too, so I could give a thorough report. At the end of the summer I was satisfied enough to schedule Phase 2 (ground floor/lower level) for the fall. We are very happy with our HVSD heating and cooling system and the work performed by Climate Technologies."

"This was a full boiler and hot water replacement (2014) in an old house. A lot of piping work. Install was pretty good. I was not happy with some post-install issues that came up."

Install Boiler questions, answered by experts

No, there isn’t always water in radiators. In a one-pipe system, water is constantly circulating from the boiler to the radiators and back. In a two-pipe system, water travels through two separate channels: one that goes to your radiators and one that returns back to the boiler so it can heat up again.

Yes. In many cases, switching from an old furnace to a high-efficiency boiler can help you save money over time. You can also save money by switching from an electric boiler to a gas boiler, which costs much less compared to the energy bills an electric boil can create. Boilers are often (but not always) more efficient than furnaces, too. Then there are discounts, rebates, and incentives that can help you save on the initial costs.

Always consult your manual for specific pressure numbers. Many expansion tanks come pre-pressurized at a specific PSI range, anywhere from 12 to 40 PSI, designed for a range of home boilers. You should not have to pressurize an expansion tank yourself, only the boiler system. If your system has a tank that needs to be manually pressurized, this is generally a job for professionals and their tools.

Overall, heating your home with an oil furnace tends to be less expensive than heating your home with an electric heating system. Oil heating systems stay warm for longer periods of time without drawing a constant electrical current to maintain a temperature. Plus, heating oil systems typically have a longer lifespan and lower price tag than their electrical counterparts, resulting in short- and long-term savings.

The best time of year to purchase or replace an HVAC system, including components like an air conditioner or furnace, is during the off-season—spring and fall. During these periods, HVAC professionals are less busy than in summer and winter, when extreme temperatures create urgent demand. Shopping during the off-season can lead to savings of 10% to 15% on an AC unit and allows you more time to find the best deal and other cost-saving incentives. Typically, air conditioning units go on sale in the fall after demand drops, while furnace prices tend to decrease in the spring.
