"Brandon did a great job! He communicates well throughout the job, so you’re always aware what’s going on. He shows up on time and cleans up after himself every day. His pricing is competitive, and most importantly he did a beautiful job installing the tile. I would highly recommend him for your tile job."

Small jobs welcome

"I originally hired this outfit for some flooring work, replacing carpeting with engineered click that I wanted to buy from Home Depot. Another contractor would not do that. This outfit had a guy at my house the next day after we talked to start tearing out the carpeting. Mid-project I had new ideas, do the floors in a couple more rooms, get rid of a tiled section, etc. A last minute change of material in one section. In a bunch of ways, I acknowledge I didn't make it easy for Pablo (the owner of this outfit, I think?). But he worked with me, never any pushback and always very patient with me. The flooring was finished, and it looks great. After the flooring, I added painting of a room and all trim on the whole first floor. Again, work started right away. Different crews did flooring vs. painting. Both did great work. Everyone was respectful and everyone was pleasant. I already know I'll be calling Pablo to paint the upstairs, and for some other remodeling I'll be doing."

"The project went great. On time and within budget. John and John did all the work necessary to remodel a master bathroom, a half bath and a laundry room. This included all the demo, floors, walls, cabinets, plumbing, electrical, shower, tile, painting, etc. Excellent job and we will definitely use them again for our next project!"

"We hired 603 Contractingfor an addition project and couldn’t be happier with the result. From the initial planning through completion, the work was well-organized, professional, and done to a high standard. Communication was clear throughout the project, timelines were realistic, and any questions or changes were handled promptly and fairly. The craftsmanship and attention to detail really showed, and the job site was kept clean and safe during construction. The project was completed as expected, and the final result exceeded our expectations. I would absolutely recommend this contractor to anyone considering an addition or major home improvement project and would not hesitate to work with them again."

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

Here’s another instance of where the answer is you could, but that doesn’t mean you should. Yes, part of the issue is getting the drywall to stay in place on the tiles, and it’s understandable that screws will crack the tiles and cause them to crumble. That’s why it’s a much better idea to screw drywall into studs, not your porcelain or ceramic tile. But aside from issues with attaching the drywall, it’s also about ensuring a smooth application without trapping moisture inside.

It’s possible to walk on a clay tile roof, but you run the risk of breaking or cracking the tiles if you’re not careful, so it’s best not to walk on it if you can avoid it. If you or a contractor needs roof access, be sure to distribute your weight evenly and step on the portions of tile that are also supported underneath, which depends on your tile design. Walking on any roofing material is inherently dangerous, so wear rubber-soled shoes and use safety equipment if you need to access your roof.

To maintain tile and grout, clean the surfaces regularly with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and wipe up spills promptly to prevent buildup. It is also important to reseal the grout every 1-2 years to maintain its durability.

Tile countertops can last up to 100 years when properly maintained. Ceramic and porcelain tiles are the most durable types and can last as long as natural stone countertops like granite, marble, and quartz. Tile countertops are much cheaper than natural stone countertops, making them an excellent option for a homeowner with a limited budget.

The number of boxes of tile you need depends entirely on the amount of tile in each box or case. Different manufacturers package their tiles differently, and boxes contain different amounts of tile depending on the size, shape, and material. Often, the amount of area that a case will cover is listed in the product description. To calculate the number of boxes you need, take the total square feet of the space and divide it by the number of square feet the box will cover.
