"Pablo called me first and the the rest is history. He visited my home with the professional camera which takes measurements and brought the countertop samples and made recommendations. He recommended a showroom that stocks the type of materials we are interested in. During the installation he helped to remove the faucet and sink and installed them for free. He also removed the old granite countertop for us. Everything went well. I strongly recommend Soares Stone for your countertop project."

"Kevin works solo, so the job took about 1 month. During this time we did not have our stove, laundry, dishwasher and our fridge was in our family room. Someone with a larger crew would have finished faster, but the quality of the work is outstanding. We liked the work so much, we hired Kevin to come back and install a glass tile backsplash in our kitchen. Kevin even helped repair a leaking valve in the laundry and the soggy wall it caused as well as install a new vanity and toilet in our bath. I'd give him my highest recommendation."

"Everything looks great. It was completed in just under 3 weeks and well ahead of the original work date expected. The installer - Alec - did a fantastic job. I would recommend this business."

"This was the first and only quote I got for Painting. I was very pleased with the process the first day I met with them. They worked with me trying to schedule appointment due to this being a second home and traveling from out of state. We had to cancel original date because of a storm, but they were able to come out the next week which was great as I had already taken time off from work to get this project done The painting looks amazing!!!! The room looks like a whole different room. Few places needed to be plastered and they did a dynamite job. I wish I had more painting to do because I would hire them in a heartbeat. IF YOU NEED PAINTING THESE ARE THE PEOPLE TO CALL!!!!!"

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

On average, tiling a shower costs between $1,800 and $5,000, with most people paying around $2,700. The price of this project depends on multiple factors, including the kind of tile you choose, the size of your shower, and labor rates in your area. If you decide to tile your own shower (instead of hiring a professional), it’ll likely cost $800 to $1,400.

The lifespan of bathroom tile can be 50 years or more, depending on proper installation and regular maintenance. A well-done tile job, whether it's a new installation or a retiling project, can last for many decades. To lengthen the life of your tile, it's best to have it installed by a professional and to perform regular maintenance. This includes routine cleaning, resealing, and regrouting as needed. With proper care, you can expect your tile to last 10 years or more before needing major repairs or retiling, especially in high-traffic areas where tiles can wear out more quickly.

Your floors should be completely level for tile, otherwise you risk damaging the tiles in the future. When there are even small gaps or hills in the subfloor beneath the tile, this puts more pressure on the tile when you walk around on the floor. With repeated traffic, the tiles are at risk of cracking, and you’ll have to deal with tile repairs sooner than if the floor was completely level.

There are no unbreakable rules of design, but experts recommend against using large tiles in areas with poor subflooring where they’re more prone to cracking, in areas where the floor isn’t entirely level, over raised areas or dips, and in bathrooms where budget is the primary concern. The size of your bathroom shouldn’t be a reason not to use large tiles; in fact, larger tiles, also known as slab tiles, can be a modern and sleek choice for bathroom floors and walls.

Yes, it’s possible to cut tile without a wet saw; instead, you can use an angle grinder, a glass cutter, a snap cutter, tile nippers, or a rotary tool with a tile-cutting blade. A manual tile cutter or snap cutter works well for the larger tiles that wet saws are typically used for, while smaller projects might just require nippers or a glass cutting wheel. If you’re working with large quantities of tile, however, power tools are best.
