We chose Bachert Builds based on our terrific experience with their remodeling of our master bathroom.  Chester was fun to work with:  knowledgeable, professional, reliable, and creative.  We enjoyed the process of choosing stone, tile, cabinets, and overall design, and Chester made it easy to feel confident about our choices.  He listened well to our needs, observed how we use our kitchen, and adjusted the design until we all felt very comfortable with it.  He suggested adding a prep sink, which initially we thought was unnecessary (until we watched ourselves jostle each other at the only sink in the old kitchen!)  In our previous review, we noted how Chester has fabulous specialized tradespeople.  Many of the same crews showed up again and it felt like greeting old friends.  They were all respectful, highly competent, and worked quickly.  And all of them cleaned up after themselves.  After hearing "horror stories" about other remodeling experiences, we thanked our lucky stars (and Angie's List) for finding Chester Bachert.

Of course a kitchen remodel is one of the most challenging home projects.  We actually cook and eat homemade meals (hence the need for a great kitchen!) so having our kitchen demolished was scary.  Chester walked and talked us through the challenges.  He set up a temporary kitchen in our dining room with microwave and even got our fridge situated so that we could continue to access water and ice.  I can't tell you how helpful that was!  Probably the most challenging part was refinishing the hardwoods.  We had to move everything out of one side of the house so that the finishers could have access, then later move everything to the other so that the rest could be done.  Yet even there Chester worked with us to help us figure out how and when we could do that project with the least disruption possible.

We had one glitch when the backsplash tile we chose turned out vastly different from what we had anticipated.  We called Chester and he came over.  We all looked and looked and talked and talked - and at the end of the day he said, "I don't want you to settle.  I want you to love your kitchen as much as you love your bath."  The next day we returned to the tile store, looked at alternatives, and brought home samples.  We quickly chose a different backsplash, and Chester's men soon had it up.  And we do love it.  Everyone who visits comments on the lovely wall of tile.

We put Chester in a bit of a time bind when our elderly mom wanted to return home sooner than we expected from an extended visit with other family members.  Chester worked incredibly hard to get the kitchen ready enough to accommodate Mom's needs by her return date.  I guess she could not wait to see the changes!
