"Klye's communication was awesome a fact I loved. Asked questions to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted & even better he listened. Prompt, friendly, good pricing. He installed a new kitchen sink & faucet and new plumbing under the sink. We also needed wire over the gable vents to keep squirrels OUT. I have alread asked for estimates for three other jobs. YES I would recommend him to anyone"

"Had CR3 come out to do the roofing and siding on my previous house. Nothing but professionalism and curiosity from this company. The old siding had holes in it and they were able to install all new so quickly. Bryan has the knowledge to walk you through everything. Would highly recommend for any needed project and will certainly use them in the future."

Customers say: Quality work

"We own a beach house on North Top Sail Island, N.C. Hurricane Florence badly damaged the place. We hired Colley Construction to make repairs, it quickly became apparent that there were severe structural issues in the house framework and support beams in addition to all the hurricane damage. Mike and his crew effectively rebuilt the entire house, all exterior walls had to be torn out, ledger boards replaced, floor joists replaced, new DP50 (hurricane) windows and insulated siding installed, new decks and stairs, all exterior doors, vinyl tile floors, bathroom toilets, showers and vanities. We also had to have the kitchen area rebuilt, we replaced the electric stove with gas at the request of my wife and also had quartz counter top installed, new dish washer, fridge and built in microwave. Mike Colley also acted as general contractor for some jobs that required specialists such as drywall finishing. Thru out the re-building process which took about 5 months to complete, Mike kept me informed and supplied me with many dozens of pictures of before and after work and I felt well-informed, (even though I was 600 miles away) as to what was done to the house to get it back into shape. In fact, it is much stronger and storm resistant than before. Mike also made suggestions which greatly improved the appearance of the underside of the house by installing white soffit underneath and painting the pilings. Mike also installed what looks like bridge piers mounted on concrete under the outside stairways for added stability. When ever there was a question about what building materials to use or construction approach I told Mike to use the best practice, and he did. Now we have a beach house that is both beautiful and solid. I am glad we had such a good contractor to restore our home, lasting thanks to Mike, Mason and Joey and the crew who delivered us from this disaster."

"I hired JG Harper Construction to replace some damaged Hardie plank siding and trim on my house. I cannot say enough good things about Josh Harper. He is knowledgeable, fair, and did excellent work. He communicated with me throughout the entire project, finished the job ahead of schedule and cleaned up after the job. I would give him more than 5 stars if I could."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Wilmington’s historic districts, elevated homes, and wrap-around porches often complicate siding installation. Architectural features, tight lot lines, and mature landscaping can limit contractor access. Previous hurricane or termite damage, as well as shifting from sandy soils, may reveal hidden repairs. Homes in flood-prone neighborhoods or with unique layouts might also require extra permits or specialized siding contractors familiar with local challenges.

Helpful?

When hiring siding contractors in Wilmington, prioritize experience with coastal weather, moisture management, and storm-resistant installation techniques. Look for professionals familiar with fiber cement, vinyl, and wood siding suited to the area’s climate. Request local references, especially for work on historic or storm-damaged homes. Ensure clear written estimates, strong warranties, and professional communication. Be cautious of door-to-door offers, cash-only deals, or bids that seem unusually low.

Helpful?

In Wilmington, planning for future expansions means saving extra siding materials and detailed installation notes for easy matching later. Consider modular siding systems that allow seamless additions, especially in neighborhoods like Landfall or Carolina Place where expansions are common. Leave access points for future utilities or smart home upgrades, and always review setback, flood zone, and HOA requirements before starting any new siding installation or addition.

Helpful?

For Wilmington’s coastal climate, keep mildew and mold cleaners, salt residue removers, and a pressure washer for routine cleaning. Stock marine-grade caulking, UV-resistant touch-up paint, and stainless steel fasteners for quick repairs. Moisture meters help monitor siding health, while extension poles and pruning shears assist with inspections. It’s also wise to have storm prep supplies like tarps, plywood, and emergency siding repair kits ready.

Helpful?

In Wilmington, siding installation can impact outdoor electrical outlets, meter boxes, and security system wiring, especially with the area’s salt air exposure. HVAC units need proper clearance, and exterior vents must remain sealed to prevent moisture intrusion. Plumbing elements like hose bibs or gas lines may require protective measures. Always confirm vapor barriers and flashing are intact to safeguard your home from Wilmington’s coastal humidity.
