I am the owner and do my own field work, CADD mapping as well as research. Any assistants of mine on the job have years of experience so all work is performed by highly qualified personnel. Since I bring my Laptop computer with me, a lot of times if a printer is available I can provide the customer their map before leaving the jobsite. When Invoices are sent through email, a link is provided to pay with a credit card, in addition I have a reader to accept a credit card on site.

"Mr. Cavenaugh is the most professional, courteous, tactful, punctual, and positive contractor that I have ever met. He has integrity, character, and is extremely honest. He went above and beyond what he was hired to do. If you want a contractor that is not out to swindle you, or play frivilous mind games, "PLEASE HIRE VERNIE!" I will recommend him to any and everyone who does not have time for these dumb scams. We are so grateful to God that we found Vernie on Angie's List. There are only a few good men left. A few different types of land surveys can help determine certain features and boundaries of your property. These include:

  • Boundary surveys describe the actual borders of a property. These are generally required when trying to get construction permits issued. 

  • Location surveys provide much of the same information as a boundary survey but also include in-depth information about any improvements made to your property. 

  • Mortgage location surveys are usually required by lenders and title companies before financing or offering an insurance policy. 

  • Site-planning surveys are done before applying for building permits and can be issued before any major home improvements. 

  • Topographic surveys provide a formal map of land elevations. It can also describe the location and size of natural features and any land improvements.

To prepare for a land survey, you must thoroughly check your land surveyor’s qualifications, reviews, and fees to align with your expectations. When it is time for the survey to be conducted, ensure that you have all your documents organized and available, know and mark your property lines, and inform your neighbors that the survey is happening.

Measure from zero on a measuring tape by placing the metal hook right up against the edge of what you need to measure. You can also latch the hook onto an open edge—of, say, a table—to accurately measure as well. If you begin at the 1-inch mark, you'll need to subtract an inch from your total.
