"What an incredible experience. Easy process and any questions were dealt with quickly and accurately. I spent probably ten hours researching windows and chose Zen Windows . Everything I hoped for and more . Process was way , any questions was a phone call or email away and answered quickly . Installation was perfect . Seven windows installed in approx two and one half hours . We will be doing the remaining eleven windows first of the year . All the company , people and windows are exceptional . Could not be happier . If your having to replace windows I assure you Zen windows will do an incredible job . I was not looking forward to the process when I began for all the obvious reasons but Zen Windows has delivered . Take a look at the warranty and it should tell you everything you need to know . Windows are great and my wife loves them , thank you for making me look good Zen !"

"We found out about Windows2Gutters from a neighbor who also had their windows washed. The whole process, from quote to performing the service, was so easy! Ruben was very flexible to work with. His team was ontime, professional, and courteous. They did a great job and I would use them again and would definitely recommend this business!!!"

"This is a great company with a awesome product. At a minimum, have one of their extremely knowledgeable representatives give you a demonstration of the quality and craftsmanship that goes into each and every window. The money you spend, you’ll save 10-fold from energy savings, looks, and of course resale."

Small jobs welcome

"Mr. Jordan replaced three window screens for us. The windows had not had screens for as long as we have had this house. The screens are exactly what we expected and they fit perfectly. The job was completed in a timely manner and the cost was very reasonable. As a plus, Mr. Jordan is personable."

Windows questions, answered by experts

Windows last between 15 and 30 years on average. The glass tends to last for around 20 years, while the frames last up to 50 years. This varies by the type of window frame material, glass quality, location, and level of maintenance. Wood frames have the shortest lifespan and require repainting or resealing every couple of years, while fiberglass has one of the longest lifespans.

Installing energy-efficient windows costs between $325 and $2,000, averaging about $400 per window. You’ll have to consider cost factors like the window’s size, frame material, and type. Labor costs in your area will also impact the overall cost of the project, with window installation professionals charging about $40 per hour on average. Different types of energy-efficient windows include:

  • Single-hung: $150–$2,500

  • Casement: $150–$600

  • Double-hung: $250–$3,000

  • Picture: $200–$650

  • Bay: $480–$1,920

Double-pane windows offer several key benefits, making them a worthwhile investment. They provide superior insulation and energy efficiency compared to single-pane windows, which helps limit heat loss, maintain more comfortable indoor temperatures, and lower your utility bills. The design, which features two panes of glass filled with air or gas, also dramatically reduces noise from outside, making your home significantly quieter. Additionally, the dual-pane construction strengthened by spacers improves the durability and security of your windows.

On average, bay windows are three times as expensive as a standard double-hung window, so up-front cost is a major drawback. They also let in more natural light than most other types of windows, which can be a positive thing, but it can also lead to more aggressive fading and UV damage to furniture and flooring. Larger windows allow for more heat transfer, so bay windows tend to be less energy-efficient due to their size. Finally, window treatments for bay windows can be more challenging to find, and they’re more expensive than those you’d place over standard-sized windows.

Bay windows are not easy to install because they are heavy and require specific tools and woodworking experience. You’ll also need to install a roof cab, flashing, and shingles. Ensuring the window is level and sealed can be tricky but it is important because it prevents air leakage and water from entering your home. Most often, an experienced window pro should install bay windows.
