"Ultimately what we had called them for was something that they could not resolve, small generator repair that was mechanical not 'electrical', however Brady was able to help me resolve my issue anyways. Very professional."

"Originally I had them come out to look because my downstairs A/C system was cooling sporadically. The technician was really friendly, polite and informed me that it would be $1500 to replace the variable motor b/c it was completely done. My system is just now at 10 years old. I decided to compare the cost of getting a new unit which I ended up doing. I got different estimates but Andy gave me the best deal for the best unit out of all the estimates. Install went great, the technicians were very polite, professional and my house is cooling again."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

Before starting generator installation in Raleigh, review your property’s layout for proper generator placement, considering clay soil and drainage needs common in the area. Secure all required permits, confirm HOA rules on noise and setbacks, and coordinate with utility providers for gas or electrical upgrades. Always call 811 before digging, and plan for inspections to keep your project on schedule and compliant.

Helpful?

For generator installation in Raleigh, select a standby generator powered by natural gas or propane, both well-supported locally. Use a reinforced concrete pad to handle the region’s clay soil and ensure stability. Opt for weather-resistant enclosures, copper wiring for durability, and install an automatic transfer switch and surge protector. Corrosion-resistant fittings are essential to withstand Raleigh’s humidity and seasonal storms.

Helpful?

Installing a generator in Raleigh provides immediate backup power during frequent summer storms and hurricane threats, helping protect refrigerated food and sensitive electronics. Over time, you’ll enjoy reliable power for medical devices or remote work, increased home value, and greater appeal to buyers who expect backup power in NC. Some insurance providers may also offer discounts for homes with standby generators.

Helpful?

In Raleigh, be cautious of quotes that lack detailed breakdowns of equipment, labor, or do not specify the type of automatic transfer switch included. Avoid installers who pressure you to commit quickly, request unusually large deposits, or skip an on-site assessment. Trustworthy professionals will explain local code requirements, provide references from recent Raleigh projects, and maintain clear, prompt communication throughout the process.

Helpful?

Raleigh’s humid summers, heavy rainfall, and hurricane risks require careful planning for generator installation. Ensure your system is sized for high summer power demands and protected with a weatherproof enclosure. Proper drainage and a sturdy concrete pad help prevent shifting in clay soil. Scheduling installation in spring or fall can help avoid weather delays and ensure your backup power system is ready before peak storm season.
