"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5 Stars Review for Vasquez Waterproofing Vasquez Waterproofing did an outstanding job installing a French drain in both my front and back yards, and they also tackled some pretty extensive water damage around my front bay window. Not only was the quality of work excellent, but the entire project was completed in just two days — super efficient. Big shoutout to Jack for his excellent communication throughout the process. Everything was explained clearly, timelines were kept, and the worksite was left clean. I’d absolutely recommend Vasquez Waterproofing for any drainage or water damage projects. In fact, I’m already in talks with them about another job. Solid team, great results."

"John Prater and team (Joe & Joseph) just completed pressure washing our roof, two-story house with walk-out basement, decks and porches, and two-car carport. We are very pleased with the work and would recommend Prater’s without hesitation; the house looks fantastic and our roof looks new! Additionally the communication from John was great- very unusual in our rural community. John called me in a timely fashion to come out and give an estimate and he arrived on time. After scheduling the work he and the crew showed up exactly when promised. So refreshing! We plan on using Prater’s for all future work and have already recommended to neighbors. Don’t bother researching, reading more reviews, etc. Call John Prater- you won’t regret it."

Foundation Repair questions, answered by experts

It is possible for a slab leak to cause a sinkhole, but it would have to be a particularly serious leak. A slab leak causes the land under your home to erode and if there is enough movement depressions will form in the ground, potentially causing a sinkhole.

Yes. A foundation wall can usually be replaced, but you’ll want to call a foundation professional.

If your foundation isn’t properly square, there’s a chance that anything you built before detecting the issue may need to be torn down. A major miscalculation could leave some walls of your home unsupported.

You could DIY the work, but unless you have plumber’s knowledge for identifying and fixing a slab leak and specialized equipment in your tool shed, attempting to DIY your slab leak repair isn’t a good idea. It’s simply not something that the average homeowner can take on themselves, regardless of how many successful DIY projects they’ve got under their belt. You could, however, do something simple like foundation waterproofing yourself to save some money on the post-repair work.

Underpinning is a specific type of foundation repair where a specialist installs deep piers under a foundation to provide additional support. This method is often used when the soil beneath the foundation can no longer evenly support the structure. Foundation repair is an umbrella term that includes many methods. Besides underpinning, other common repairs include foundation crack repair, waterproofing, cosmetic repairs, and concrete block wall stabilization. Often, underpinning is accompanied by other work to address the root cause of the foundation issue, such as regrading the yard to ensure water drains away from the house.
