Customers say: True professional

"This was the most painless and enjoyable renovation project. The kitchen footprint was changed, new cabinets, appliances, electrical, plumbing, wall removed to sunroom, hardwood floors installed, exterior door replaced, wet bar installed in pantry, new tile and shower in master. Walt is so organized and consistently offers suggestions for solutions when surprises arise. The quality of the work is outstanding and his subcontractors and suggestions for vendors make for a seamless process. I could not be happier with the results and will definitely be calling Walt again for other projects."

"Went well. Scott and his crew showed up as scheduled, did quality work, were friendly and communicated well and kept me informed of progress, cleaned up work site every day before leaving, and repositioned a French drain line as needed that was an unexpected “surprise.” I would highly recommend Carolina Contracting for a similar project."

"I hired Cransten a month ago and was super pleased with their responiveness and ease of booking. It is so hard to find a reliable contractor these days. We had a punch list of items to complete and they got everything done with high quality and in a timely manner. "

"The professionals at Construction USA were great from start to finish. JC gave me a very competitive estimate and we planned with him the demolition of my bathroom and total remodel. When they arrived to do the work, they were on time and treated our home with kid gloves. Their building technicians were very skilled at their job, and were glad to answer any questions we had along the way. I would hire them again, The quality of their work is superior."

"We found Elaineâ s Construction & Design a year ago on Angieâ s List and we couldnâ t have made a better choice. We had been debating whether to move to a house with a master suite down or just stay where we were and put an addition on our current home. We looked at about 15 houses and just couldnâ t find any that were right, so we contacted Elaineâ s Construction. I had sketched out what we wanted for an addition along with some renovation ideas. They came over, listened to everything we said and reviewed what I had drawn out on graph paper. We then went outside and they roughly walked it off and staked it with sticks and string so that we all had a visual. We stood back and looked and Elaine said â I think you should make it bigger.â We did and itâ s Perfect! Elaineâ s Construction really listened to what we wanted and helped us define our ideas. They took my measurements and dimensions and made them into the house of our dreams. We not only added a master suite down but also an office and a storage closet for a total of 900 sq ft and we also renovated 3/4 of the first floor. Their Project Manager was awesome to work with and answered every text I sent. Their subs were all very conscientious and the quality of their work was exceptional. Our project was somewhat challenging since it was during the Covid lockdown. So while Covid may have extended our time line somewhat, we couldnâ t be happier with the results. We highly recommend Elaineâ s Construction & Design for any renovation, addition or complete build."

Dark academia is more of an interior decorating style than it is a type of architecture, but it calls on themes prevalent in gothic architecture. Part of the appeal of dark academia is that you can achieve the look and feel without renovating or remodeling your home. Instead, you can switch to a dark color palette and introduce metal, natural wood furniture, plaid decor, old books, and gothic decor to get the look and feel just right.

British architect John Nash is credited with creating the Italianate style of architecture. The style was further popularized in the U.S. by landscape architect Andrew Jackson Downing and architect Calvert Vaux. The style spread across the U.S. due to Downing’s popular book on the style and the availability of plans and materials due to the mass production of the Industrial Revolution.
