"Absolutely outstanding!  Justin did a fantastic job for us 8 months ago and we have had no problem with squirrels ever since.  The previous animal control firm we were working with before we found Justin and Critter Control wanted us to keep paying and paying - and the squirrels kept coming back.  Justin just charged us a one-time fee and took care of the problem - at least so far.  And when we needed him to come back by this summer and seal up and repair some rotten wood that had since opened up under the shingles of our back porch he came right by and took care of it before any squirrels or other animals had a chance to move in.  A true professional!

A lot of modern homes have a gap (fascia gap) like the one in this picture. It doesn't take much for a squirrel or other animals to enter your attic space. From the ground this gap is hidden from the homeowners view.

"They were suppose to take the shutters off and wash them, but they could not get the shutters off.  Once off, they were going to put a material in the back of them so that bats would not be able to enter under our shutters any longer.  Instead, they had to fill them with foam.

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

If a wild animal enters your yard, prioritize safety for yourself and the animal. Remember to avoid direct contact and always keep a safe distance. Contact local authorities or a wildlife rehabilitation center if the animal is hurt or in distress. Both sources should be able to guide you on how to proceed and send help if needed. Please wait for the animal to leave naturally for non-threatening situations, as many will. To deter future visits, implement measures like securing trash cans, sealing entry points, and removing potential food sources.

There are DIY methods and store-bought pesticides available for the public to use. However, these pesticides also come with a risk, and you need to follow the directions correctly and take precautionary measures to prevent exposure to these chemicals. These methods may be an option for small pest problems, but you should call in a pest control specialist for persistent pests and infestations.

Look for goose repellents that contain the ingredient methyl anthranilate. This is a natural chemical found in grape juice. In human food, it’s often used as grape flavoring. With geese, it’s highly irritating. Grape Kool-Aid contains methyl anthranilate, the active ingredient in most bird repellents. It won’t harm geese, but it will deter them.

When woodpeckers start banging on your walls or roof, they are probably looking for insects to eat, storing nuts for winter, drilling a hole to make a nest, or communicating with other birds to establish territory or find a mate.

The size of the hole can help determine the reason for the pecking. Small irregular holes are a result of insect hunts. Acorn holes are more consistently sized and often fitted with a nut in the middle. Nest holes are large and have rounded edges. If the bird is pecking to mark its territory or attract a mate, it may leave dents rather than holes, and the noise will stop when the mating season starts in spring.

Yes, predator decoys work to keep birds away, at least temporarily. However, if the decoy remains motionless in the same spot for a long enough time, the birds will eventually wise up and realize it's a fake. Keep changing the location of the predator decoy to ensure that the birds keep their guard up and maintain their distance.
