"Randy and Luke were excellent! They were both really trustworthy, helpful, and considerate, and did the engineering work for the project carefully. Randy was very responsive any time I texted or emailed him, often replying on the same day (even on weekends!), and patiently and thoroughly answered all our many questions. They started the job when promised, finished it promptly even though we told them we were in no rush, and made helpful suggestions that resulted in a better project outcome. They even came back to do a little touch-up work we wanted even though we’d already paid them in full (some contractors would not have come back). We’re very happy with their work, and will definitely hire them again if we need more landscaping done."

Small jobs welcome

"Robert was the first to respond when I went on Angie’s List. I just moved here from Florida and bought a home here. We discussed what I needed and he gave me a fair quote. Robert and Shaine came and did what they promised and then some! I kept adding more to my list. Fair pricing for work completed! Very happy with their work and will continue to call on them when I need things done around the house. Thank you guys for a great job well-done! Robert communicated well and came when he said he would and stayed longer than I expected and did a great job. Very impressed with this experience. Hung 3 TVs on brackets, moved sensor on garage door, removed my mantel to make room for me to put on in a fireplace below my tv, and put a blanket on my water heater. Here is a pic of my dining room light they hung for me. I LOVE it! Thanks guys! Sorry for the messiness, still unpacking."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

The best way to remove lead paint is by wet hand sanding and removing all dust and residue with a HEPA vacuum. Professionals may also strip and scrape lead-based paint with a paint scraper. In some cases, you may choose to have a pro encapsulate or enclose your lead-based paint surface by covering it with a sealant or a new material. You may also choose to replace the material altogether.

Lead removal can take a few days to several weeks, depending on the work needed, particularly if the lead is widespread and in hard-to-reach areas.

Unfortunately, lead dust does not look different from any other type of dust. You cannot detect it with the naked eye. To determine if you have lead dust in your home, you will need to hire a local company to take a sample from the paint and test it for you in a lab.

Some companies offer hazardous waste removal, but additional fees and special handling procedures may be required.

You should ask a few questions to ensure that your potential lead removal professional is experienced and qualified to handle lead-paint abatement safely, legally, and properly.

  • What are your qualifications and experience removing lead-based paint?

  • Are you licensed and certified to remove lead-based paint?

  • How do you test for lead paint?

  • What methods do you use for lead-based paint abatement?

  • What do you plan to do with the hazardous material when you remove it from the home?

  • Do you do replacement and painting work or removal only?
