Rick was on time for every appointment and did an excellent job. His 40+ years of experience in the Waynesville/Asheville area played a huge role in every plant and landscaping material choice he recommended (some I would have never thought of), and the final product was more than I could have ever imagined. He took into account some of the recommendations that we had, crafted them into a much better design, and talked us out of a few that would not have worked. I recommend Advanced Landscaping for all of your landscape needs. His company will always have follow-on work with us, as we have many more projects planned. I have a newly constructed home with no backyard landscaping! Rick and his staff were able to take my vision for new landscaping and make it a reality! Needed solution to basement flooding after heavy rains. Rick and Ricky addressed multiple issues including water drainage toward foundation at multiple sites, leakage from underground gutter drains, and reverse flow into basement drain. They also removed old asphalt from my driveway and replaced with composite stone. Advanced Landscaping provides quality, professional service. Highly recommend.

Wonderful! Rick is responsive, knowledgable & hard working. He added several medium/large trees to our yard and several bushes that really changed the look of our yard. He was very knowledgable about the best plants, shrubs & trees for each area of the yard and even gave us a few pointers on maintenance care of our other trees. We were so pleased with his work upgrading the look of our yard that we asked for his help again with building a stone patio just off our back porch. Again, he was punctual and timely in the completion of this project and it was exactly what we wanted and needed. We would recommend Rick and his team to anyone and will be calling him again for future needs.

We couldn't be happier with the work they did. They made excellent tree and shrub selections and were so great to work with. They made a paver patio on our side porch and it looks fantastic. Very trustworthy and honest along the way and never steered us in the wrong direction. Everything they did was what we expected and now our landscaping looks like it was always supposed to be there. Everything went well. We have a steep hill which was somewhat torn up by a recent home repair project and I was very concerned about possible erosion. I called Rick and he came to look at the job the next day. He immediately understood my concerns and made suggestions on how to address them. While there we also looked at the old landscaping and he made suggestions for replacing some of the plantings with plants that will perform better in this environment. After we settled on all the options he took about 15 minutes to provide me with an estimate on-the-spot and followed this up with an email that evening. I accepted the proposal, and within 2 weeks he was on-site doing the job. His responsiveness was better than I could have expected and the quality of the job was outstanding. I would not hesitate to use him again.

It took me a few tries to find anyone who deals with poison ivy at all. Rick was very responsive and professional. Even though the price seemed so expensive to me, it was worth it. He helped us reclaim our back yard and trees from the poisonous vine jungle that had overtaken the area. I know if I have a yard problem I can't deal with myself, I can call him again with confidence.

Advanced Landscaping did a great job on this project. They responded quickly to my initial call and offered suggestions as to how I could do the work to meet my budget. They were able to get my job done three weeks earlier than expected and built a very sturdy and attractive retaining wall that they backfilled with gravel; road bond;and finished with chat. I appreciated the professional level of communication throughout the project and will hire them again for future projects

I have just moved to the area and relied heavily on the Angies List reviews for my landscaping. I am glad I did. Rick did a fantastic job. He provides great service and he is very honest. The lawn and landscaping looks so much better. He installed a drain pipe and made my hilly grassless back yard area look 100x better. I appreciate his hard-work. I definitely would hire again.

The stairs make it so much easier to trudge up the hill to the garage and make it much safer coming back down. I often slipped on the wet grass on decent and usually went the long way round to stay on the gravel driveway. Now it's a straight and safe trip every time. Rick diplomatically pointed out that my ambitious and high dollar idea regarding the landscaping on the large slope which involved hauling in boulders and creating planting pockets was not going to get me to my longed for low maintenance goal. Since it would result in repeated back-breaking re-mulching and weeding around a tricky tiered landscape. Low maintenance being priority since I ain't gettin' any younger, I went with his recommendation for large scale ground cover which once established would virtually eliminate any of that nonsense. The ground cover plants and pine straw mulch are in and it already looks tidier and more eye appealing. Can't wait for it to fill in, NEVER to mulch again!! He installed a French drain along the high side of the slope, tying it in with a catch basin and diversion ditch that empties directly into the small stream on our property. Now the runoff the that used to flood my back yard and wash away soil from my flowerbeds is channeled harmlessly around them. Now all I have to do is get the rest of the yard looking as nice.

I chose Rick (Advanced Landscape) based on numerous positive reviews on Angie's List. My experience was similar to those positive reviews. Rick contacted me the same day of my request, came to my home 30 miles away the next day and gave me an estimate for the work, after discussing with me various alternatives. He was totally professional in explaining what would be done and how much it would cost, and did not try to sell me more than I wanted. He explained that he could not begin work for a few weeks due to prior commitments, and that was acceptable to me. I gave him a deposit to purchase materials. He contacted me a few weeks later and began work the next day. He installed steps on my embankment that were exactly what I had in mind (the look I wanted), and installed a couple of hundred junipers on the steep banks, then mulched heavily with pine needles. The plants look very healthy and the finished look is very neat and professional. He worked every day until the job was finished. He used his college-aged son as his helper (summer job) and I was impressed with the respect that he treated his "helper" with. This was a difficult laborious job that I could not have done myself. I am totally pleased with the work. Regarding the price, I do not know if others would consider it fair, because I did not get any other estimates. However, I knew the work was laborious, and based on multiple other reviews, I decided to give the job to Rick. I'm glad I did. In the end, he used fewer plants than he originally estimated, and he lowered his price by $500. I recommend Rick and Advanced Landscaping without reservation.

Rick and crew did a wonderful job at a reasonable cost. They were always on time and always cleaned up after their work. The work was excellent and in a timely manner. They cut down some very large hollies and a large dead tree, and removed several large shrubs. They then replaced the shrubs with new ones that are much better suited for our house. We were very satisfied with the work and will definitely use again.
