After purchasing my first home, I realized quickly that things were less than perfect. 3 months in, we were finding water intrusion in our crawl space. I had multiple companies come to inspect what was going on. I didn’t feel confident in their solutions, there was more to our situation. After feeling helpless, I read about David Gibson construction. Their testimonies really struck my interest. A local expert, that won’t take a job unless it’s done right, and always found the root of the issue. David came over, surveyed the entire property, inspected the crawl space / foundation, did soil samples, and sent over an entire report on what he believed was going on. We immediately hired him. Davis addressed the root cause and any additional repairs he found along the way. He and his crew were extremely professional, timely, and easy to work with. With highest regard, I strongly recommend David Gibson Construction. I can confidently say all of our issues are now in the past.

David did substantial work to repair foundation damage that was found during removal of a large tree that fell during the Helene storm. The foundation was bulging/collapsing inwards below grade to the interior of an earthen basement. The project needed more than a canned approach, which several other foundation contractors described that they could do. David explained several options for addressing the failure and stabilizing the foundation over the longer term. I was impressed by his thinking and very satisfied by the work. He was able to do the work in a timely fashion during a period when he was working on quite serious road and foundation repair projects resulting from Helene damage. I would absolutely hire him again.

My gravel driveway in Black Mountain, NC had needed repairs for a long time and the situation became much worse after a plumbing company installed a new sewer line under it. I contacted David Gibson about repairing the driveway as he had previously done excellent work in fixing my foundation that was settling. David and his crew arrived when expected and had to excavate and install extra sub base and gravel due to the much deteriorated condition of my driveway. I am very pleased with the work and I highly recommend him for fixing any driveway or foundation problems.

David did an outstanding job. We and another neighbor have used him in the past and always had excellent results. He is a professional, knows what he’s doing, and is very easy to work with. David shows up when he said he would. He is flexible if you need to change something, and his pricing is extremely reasonable. David is hands down the best contractor I've ever worked with! He has a background in engineering and it shows. My home's driveway was severely damaged by Helene (we live up in the mountains near Swannanoa, NC) and we had a mass of earth precariously perched above our home. I was very nervous it could continue sliding into our home. In addition to this, where our road had collapsed, it had become dangerous to pass with a car. David and his team were able to assess the damage and develop a thorough, well-explained plan for repairing this road damage. We were able to build a retaining wall and reinforce the bank adjacent to our road. He even re-graveled our driveway at no additional cost because his trucks were unable to access our property due to sandy roads. The work was professional and of very high quality. While he was working on the road repairs I also had him check our foundation to see if things had shifted during the hurricane. David was able to identify some bowing/cracking and suggested a repair with steel bracing. We agreed to those repairs and while working on this he noticed our decking bolts had come undone. David then went around both our main home and an ADU to check the bolts/nuts were tightened down on all exterior structures. This was going beyond and above by a wide margin and showed how much David cares about doing the right thing and helping people above all else. I cannot recommend David enough both professionally and personally. He's a wonderful human who does excellent work and I will absolutely work with him again in the future! -Andrew

Great job. Dedicated service. Dug up potted plants for me that had been submerged in mud. Hard worker! Helped me with obtaining FEMA grant by talking to the agent and supplying necessary information. Definitely would hire him again!!

Due to Helene David completed several things for me including mold remediation as well as electrical and plumbing issues. He is a VERY honest person and, obviously, takes much pride in his work. David is excelent, he has the skill and experence to handle the biggest yet very delicate and difficult task of rebuilding a 200 year old home's foundation. Most recently we had damage from the hurricain. David was able to stablize a hillside, rebuild our driveway and take down a hugh white oak that had fallen and gotten stuck 20 ft in the air. David had the skill and equipment to bring it down safely. I absolutle recomend David Gibson. He communicated his progress and let us know what to expect throughout the project.

David is the best! He has worked on our log cabin several times over the past few years. He is professional, proactive, and does a great job. He treats our cabin as if it was his. Will definitely call him for the next project!

I have relied on Gibson Construction for help in the past but my most recent request was to apply a sealant to our large, cement driveway. David responded promptly to my text, arrived on the job punctually, and applied the sealant in a professional manner. I believe this treatment will protect the concrete not only from daily wear-and-tear but also from the more harsh elements of snow, ice, and salt during the winter season. Great. David Gibson came out to our property and rebuilt a long (several hundred yards) gravel driveway after clearing up a number of fallen trees covering sections of the driveway. Work completed within 2 days, including first day in which high wind blew down several additional trees damaged when Hurricane Helene went through earlier in the week. His company has maintained the driveway for about 5 or 6 years and he provided expedited work as we were one of his established customers. Price was good and a bargain considering how quickly it was done and the number of jobs to do in Asheville, NC area after Helene.

Gibson's Grading and Construction team did an excellent job! We would highly recommend them to anyone who needs help from someone who actually knows what they’re doing! We started off with a “simple” flooring and countertop quote which turned into a complete remodel once it was all said and done. They literally made this house our dream home. We have the utmost respect and faith in David and Joe’s ability and knowledge that we hired them to do it all: demo/electric/plumbing/structure-floor support/wood floor installation/countertops/new doors and so much more. These two are more than friends, they’re now family - and we are absolutely blessed to be lucky enough to cross paths when they weren’t already booked up saving someone else. We’ll have them come back in the spring for grading, some seriously overgrown landscaping and back deck install. Don’t wait another minute… give them a call!

David was clearly a godsend for us. He did a deck and foundation repair but he can do just about anything. He is very knowledgeable, honest and affordable. It took us forever to find someone like him. He is well worth the wait.

David found structural issues in my attic from a tree falling on the house a couple of years ago. These issues had not been addressed by the roofers. He made necessary repairs in the crawl space as the house had settled. Very pleased with all of the repairs!

We had damage to the gravel driveway after 5 inches of rain. A culvert got blocked and the driveway washed out. David came the next day and graded it smooth. He made it more than passable. He made it better than before the rain event.

David was very helpful and proffesional. Our house was built in 1960 and had a lot of electrical issues. David re-wired everything and divided the circuits and was able to put everything into a single breaker box with no voltage losses. He helped us set up the new dishwasher and dryer as well as the garage door opener. He has always maintained our driveway which is a long, gravel uphill driveway. We would not let anyone else touch the driveway. He also dug a drainage trench which repaired one downspout on the house that had been leaking into the basement. And the last job for us was removal of a very large dying tree which was next to our parking area. He gave us a great price on all the work and stayed on budget. We highly recommend David, and will use him again for these type of projects around our home.

Everything went as expected. This is the 3rd time David has worked on different areas of our very old log cabin. He is always professional, hard working, and updates us daily. He is the best!
