"I live in Florida, lightning capitol, so I felt having lightning rods installed would be great protection for my house. I would recommend this company if you want to protect your house. They were very professional and efficient. Because of many different roof lines on my house, they needed to install 7 rods. They arrived at noon and finished in a couple of hours. I am very happy with their work, and feel much safer."

"The problem turned out to be a burned out small electric door switch. I believe the price was way too expensive for the service performed and the price of the door switch. What more can I say? It got done."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

When planning electrical projects in Highlands, consider the area’s high rainfall, elevation, and risk of ice storms, all of which can impact system durability. Limited contractor availability and the need for specialized materials may extend timelines. If your property is near streams or wetlands, additional environmental regulations may apply. Planning for backup power and weatherproofing ensures your electrical system remains reliable in Highlands’ challenging mountain climate.

Helpful?

For safer electrical upgrades in Highlands, install tamper-resistant outlets and use outlet covers in areas accessible to children. Shield outdoor wiring to prevent wildlife interference, and add weatherproof covers to exterior outlets. Whole-home surge protection is recommended due to frequent storms. Choose smart switches with lockout features for kids’ rooms, and ensure electrical panels are securely out of reach of pets and children.

Helpful?

Before starting electrical projects in Highlands, plan ahead by submitting permit applications early, as approval can take several days. Review your project to ensure it meets state electrical codes and is suitable for Highlands’ high elevation and frequent storms. Coordinate with utility providers for any planned outages, and schedule work outside the rainy season to minimize weather-related delays and keep your project moving smoothly.

Helpful?

In Highlands, project timelines vary with scope and local factors. Simple panel upgrades typically take 1-2 days, while whole-home rewiring may require 3-5 days. Outdoor lighting installations can be slowed by uneven terrain or sudden weather changes. Contractor schedules fill quickly in spring and summer, so book early to avoid delays and account for possible weather interruptions unique to the Highlands area.

Helpful?

In Highlands, flickering lights during storms, persistent burning odors near electrical panels, or outlets that trip repeatedly can signal underlying wiring or moisture problems. Watch for water stains near fixtures, rust on electrical panels, or evidence of animal activity around outdoor wiring. Addressing these warning signs early helps prevent major repairs, especially in older Highlands homes where weather and wildlife can accelerate damage.
