First off, wouldn't call him a pro. Hired him for a deck rebuild...granted we made changes along the way and the bill increased, which we agreed to...paid him every penny he asked for(even being charged almost $300 to put visqueen on the windows so we could paint... an hour and a half job that he paid his girlfriend, her brother, and a friend for) until he walked off the job because we were being "too picky." His workers damaged siding that he hasn't replaced. He ordered the wrong deck rails. Electrical work as a separate job, he replaced a bathroom fan that doesn't work properly.

Terrible. The lumbar that he used looks as if it is 30 years old. Split, holed, splintered. There is no edge planks of the armadillo composite decking. the small amount of decking placed was either cut wrong not at a 90 degree angle or the satellite deck was not squared. when we brought this to his attention he walked off the job. The handrails that were ordered and delivered are six foot long. The supports that the hand rails are supposed to fit between are 6"x6" and are 8' on center leaving 7'6" between the supports. that leaves the hand rails 1'6" short. There are no stair rails on the project site The contractor did not supply or place any waterproofing tape on top of the deck joists as required by the decking manufactur.
