"Troy & his guys did a great job. They were professional in ways I can’t say I’ve ever experienced before. They were on time, always cordial, did what they said they were going to do, cleaned up at the end of the day, let me know when they were leaving & when they would be back. Troy runs a tight ship! Thank you for doing such a great job!"

"Mar's cleaning was so responsive, reliable, and flexible. We just purchased a home and needed the odor removed as well as a VERY deep cleaning before we could move our family in. Mar's cleaning came out for a quote the very same day of contact and within 2 days were at our home bright and early to begin the job. They did a phenomenal job deeply cleaning our home and it smelled and looked like a new home when we came in! We would love to work with them again for regular home cleanings. Thank you for saving the day Mar's Cleaning!"

"Had HC Gutter Cleaning come out this morning for gutter cleaning and repair. They arrived on time and were polite and efficient in cleaning all of our gutters and making a few minor repairs. We were amazed at how quickly they worked and they left no trace of the debris they removed! Receiving multiple photos of the now very clean gutters was confirmation of a job Very well done. The price was great too! We give highest recommendations for others to use this fine local company. We will never use anyone else!!"

"Forrest and his crew were consummate professionals; they showed up when they said they would, worked all day and even cleaned up the work site each day before leaving. Their work is top shelf, and I would NOT hesitate to refer them to friends and family alike if/when projects arise. They will be our first call in future if we need additional work!!"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

There are several methods for attaching stair stringers to a deck. The best way is to bolt the stringers to the deck joists using three carriage bolts in a triangular pattern. This method offers the sturdiest fit for stairs that won’t budge. Alternatively, attach the stringers to the deck rims using lag bolts or to the posts using adjustable slope hangers.

In general, you need a footing at each corner of your deck, and within 8 feet of each other. So, how many you need depends on the size and shape of your deck, plus any local building codes. It also depends on factors like the load capacity of your soil and the weight of your deck. You can find a footing calculator online or contact a pro for support.

Pressure-treated decking may be worth it if you want a natural, insect- and rot-resistant decking material that will last for decades with proper maintenance. As such, it’s a much better option than untreated pine. Alternative wood decking materials like cedar and redwood tend to be less durable and more expensive. Some homeowners prefer composite decking, which is a low-maintenance alternative to wood but is also more costly.

Building a deck is often worth the investment, not only because it provides more utility to your yard and gives you more space to entertain but also because decks tend to add value to your home. Keep in mind that second-story decks often require concrete footings, which means they will bump up your property taxes, while decks built on the first story generally don’t require a permanent foundation and won’t affect your taxes. Even with the tax increase, decks are usually a good investment in the long run.

Yes, adding a composite deck, such as one made from Trex, can significantly increase your home's value. It is a valuable home renovation for recouping costs, with some estimates for return on investment (ROI) ranging between 60% and 70%. More recently, Remodeling's 2024 Cost vs. Value Report suggests a deck addition has an ROI of 82.9%, with an average resale value of nearly $14,600. A new deck makes your yard more functional, enhances the landscape's aesthetic, and can entice prospective buyers. The investment may have a higher return if the deck adds usable square footage to the property.
