"Adam was a pleasure to work with. He drew up the plans himself and met with us before starting the project to make sure we were all on the same page. His workers were very efficient and thorough. The quality of work completed was exceptional and we couldn't be happier with our pavers/walkway. His team was very professional and clean. The project didn't drag out, they came in and worked every day until the project was complete. They also cleaned up after themselves every night so we didn't come home to a mess. We had three different companies come out and give us a quote for the same project and Adams price was competitive and the quality of work far exceeded our expectations. Save yourself the time and look no further for any hardscaping work you are looking to have done."

"After getting 3 estimates Clean Cuts was the most detailed and best value by far. Very friendly and easy to work with. I had a retaining wall built and filled in with dirt and pavers layed on top to create a patio out my back door. Very slopped and unusable space. They had great ideals and beautiful material. Very pleased with the quality of the finished product. Receiving a lot of complements and turned the area into a wonderful space to use and enjoy."

"I contacted Dry-Pro to assess and provide an estimate for foundation repair, My home is on a slab and several cracks had appeared in doorways. A significant crack ran along a stairway. I was mailed a packet of material that explained various problems and remedies regarding foundation issues. David Smith, Inspector, met with me, assessed the issues, explained a patented product Dry-Pro uses called PolyLevel, and later that day emailed an estimate and a diagram of the project. His approach was educational and there were no high pressure sales gimmicks. The project was scheduled and Jeff,(Foreman) and Wes arrived on time. They were very professional in appearance and behavior. They reviewed the project with me as they walked it out and prepared the material. They worked efficiently and they were not intrusive. They answered all my questions respectfully and thoroughly. As they worked, I heard them exclaim to one another how good the results were. They were genuinely proud of their work, their skill, and their company. David Smith came by during the project and inspected the work and insured my satisfaction. .I could not be more pleased with the results. The cracks sealed to the degree that most are essentially invisible. There were no surprises except I found that the banister that had been loose was now tight and secure and a toilet that was loose (had wax rings replaced twice) was instantly tight and can no longer be budged. I am delighted! This was the easiest, most efficient, most professionally conducted project, I have ever had completed on my home. I highly recommend Dry-Pro for the education they provide, their professionalism, and the quality of their work!!!"

"J&C Hardscapes LLC did a fantastic job. Angi Gave me three references. A large company failed to respond. J&C Spent their time ministering what needed to be done. I had another company to come out. They gave me a price on the spot, I did not feel comfortable with their estimation. JNC took their time measuring and got back with me in two days. Their price was higher than the other company. I felt more comfortable with J&C Hardscapes. Carlos and his company did an excellent job installing the retaining wall. Once the wall was completed, it was perfectly constructed. One of their employees took pictures of his work because he was proud of it, To me that says it all. I would highly recommend J&C Hardscapes to anyone interested."

"The workers arrived on time and were done in about 3 hours. They were very professional and friendly. The house was a little messy when they were done (drywall dust all over the kitchen) but all in all, I would use them again. "

Masonry questions, answered by experts

It is possible, albeit a lot slower, to break up a rock using water. You would do this by freezing and thawing the water. You could create some initial holes or cracks in the rock, then pour water into the cracks or holes and allow them to freeze (so it's best to do this in winter or in colder climates). Since water expands when it freezes, this puts pressure on the inside of the rock and causes it to crack. You could continue to pour more water in and let it freeze to continue to break up the rock.

Limewash can be removed from brick, but the method of removal will depend on how long the limewash has been on the brick. If the limewash has fully dried—which happens after about five days—you’ll need to use a diluted muriatic acid mixture to remove it. If there are multiple coats of limewash, you may need to apply the acid mixture several times to fully remove it from the brick.

Yes, it is normal to see some minor hairline cracks in brick or mortar over time, often due to natural foundation settling. However, not all cracks are harmless. You should be concerned and contact a masonry professional for an inspection if you notice cracks that are getting wider or longer, or if new ones keep appearing. Other serious warning signs that can indicate significant structural or foundation damage include large vertical cracks (especially those that widen as they go up), stair-step cracks, L-shaped cracks, and deep horizontal cracks. Factors like temperature changes, moisture, and structural loading can also cause cracks to form or worsen.

Mortar is a mixture of sand and cement that binds materials, such as bricks, stones, and concrete blocks, together. Think of it as the glue that fills in the gaps between bricks and stones, then seals them in place to prevent damage or deterioration. Mortar also helps spread the load across a wall or structure, keeping cracks and shifting at bay.

Yes, you can limewash surfaces other than brick. Plaster, stone, stucco, and concrete can all also be limewashed. Any porous surface that will absorb the wash is a good candidate for limewash, although it won’t help much with waterproofing. If you choose to limewash over paint, you’ll need to prep before applying it to avoid a powdery, chalky finish. Shiny surfaces like metal or glass can’t absorb limewash, so it’s not suited for these.
