"Great experience from start to finish. Carter was a great help in navigating the initial inspection of the roof and then helping us file the claim with our insurance carrier. He then came and met with the insurance adjuster when he evaluated the roof - so that the adjuster was aware of the items that Carter identified in his initial inspection. Next, Shawna was very helpful with picking the roofing material and working through the steps up to installation. Claytonia was very helpful with the payment process, once we had received the insurance check. Within just a few days of the initial payment, the crew was here installing the new roof. They were efficient and removing and replacing the new roof - and installing a new skylight. They completed our house and my workshop in less than a day. They cleaned up, including double/triple checking to get all the nails from the removed roofing. The young man who led the roofing crew was very polite and helpful with a few things that required our participation. Then Claytonia was back once the work was done to handle the certificate of completion and getting that to our insurance company so we could receive the final payment. The experience was excellent. "We discovered a small roof leak and called Consolidated. Van Stallings came out the next day and gave us a quote. We had used this company before and were so pleased that we didn't feel it necessary to look further. They came within the week and took two days to do the job. We had lots of roof! They went all the way to the plywood and had to replace 11 pieces (but we expected some of this). I liked that Steve the project manager took pictures of where the plywood was bad so I could see what they replaced. They removed the non-working power vent and added ridge vents where needed. All the various vent covers were replaced. New flashing was installed around the chimney and skylights. We also had a gutter system installed to help keep the leaves from clogging our downspouts so quickly. They use excellent materials and really do have one of the best warranties in the business. To finish off the job the crew did an excellent job of cleaning up the area. They worked tirelessly and professionally.

The company was very responsive from calling back to schedule our initial estimate, our appointment, to the time that the project was completed.  The crew was very professional, friendly and efficient.   The roof looks great, and they even washed our skylights!
As of this writing we have not had a rain, the ultimate test on the repair of the roof,  and though I do not expect any further problems with the roof leaking, based on the quality of their work, the company assured me that if there were any problems at all they would return to make sure that all is right.  Very nice, very professional, would definitely use again.

"Almost all went well with James Tayler. The work was done quickly and they were thorough, and the exterior cleanup was terrific. The roof looks great.
Three issues; all addressed:  
1) I awarded JT the contract with the agreement that the skylights would be flashed, but those instructions did not make it to the workers.  They had installed "ice-guard" up to the skylights, which is fine, but they didn't run it up the curbs. Fortunately I was there to mention the contract and my concern and they immediately redid the skylights with flashing (but didn't change the already stuck-down ice-guard.) Two of the workers spoke enough English that we could communicate okay; my Spanish is quite limited!  JT warrants that work for 10 years; I'd have liked at least 15.  
2) The HVAC exhaust pipe pieces had separated some and there was a minor leak that I spotted from the attic on the first rain.  JT was back quickly to seal the leak within a couple days.  
3) To replace one piece of rotten board, one worker started cutting up additional pieces of my roof to get to it...but I stopped him and I cut out the rotten board from inside the attic instead.
One more note: I elected to have the ridge vent put in, but no one ? including me ? thought to take steps to prevent sawdust and scraps from filling the attic and covering items stored there.  It?s a bit of a mess.  I?m not sure I?d say yes to adding the ridge vent now; ...just stick with the old gable vent and fan.
All that said, I believe their work is likely superior to many others.  It was definitely better that what the original roofer did!  I would choose them again.

"I needed repairs to a skylight from squirrel damage, and shingles replaced and a section of gutters repaired from a large tree branch hitting roof.  Found Colbalt Roofing on Angie's List and called to get estimate.  Set a time to meet David Francis (Cobalt) at my home to discuss repairs.  As soon as David got on the roof he mentioned it looked as though the roof had hail damage.  I really didn't pay that much attention to his comment as the roof had been replaced within the last 8-10 years and it looked fine to me other than the damaged area from the tree branch and the skylight.  He took notes and said he would work up an estimate and get back with me within 24 hours.  The next day he sent me a reasonable estimate $375.00 to repair the skylight, repair damaged section of gutter, and replace small section of wood on roof and put down new shingles.  We scheduled a time for the repair.  He again mentioned that roof looked like it had hail damage and recommended I consider calling my Insurance Company.  Although I had doubts I called them.  They asked that I hold off on the repairs until they send a claim adjustor. I notified David and he said no problem and stated he would meet the adjustors when they arrived if needed.  The insurance claim adjustor came and confirmed there was severe hail and wind damage to the roof.  He demonstrated to me on section in the roof where there were lines in the shingles and he grabbed and flipped them up.  He also noticed hail damage to the gutters not caused by the tree branch.  There were numerous dents in the gutters and downspouts and numerous scratches and dents in the other four skylights that I thought was just normal wear and tear.  Because of the extensive damage on the roof the adjustor asked to look at the inside of the house where he found minor damage and water spots on the ceiling in three rooms.  Some needed minor repair to the drywall and repainting.  All the repair was covered under my policy other than the damage caused by the squirrel, minus the deductible.  David at Cobalt Roofing provided an estimate for repairs with like materials (architectural shingles) within the insurance claim estimate.  He also offered the opportunity to upgrade the quality of the roof shingles to a shingle called Presidential Shake because of a surplus he had from a previous job that matched the color of our house.  Because of the surplus and with the deep discount  I was able to obtain the higher quality shingles at the same cost of the architectural shingles.  The roofing crew was very professional  and did an excellent job. It did take a little longer than anticipated because of bad weather.  Every evening the crew did a thorough cleanup before departing.  After the roof was completed the painting crew came in and made repairs to the drywall, painted and cleaned up in one day.  My wife and I are extremely pleased with the quality of the work performed.  We now have the best looking roof in the neighborhood."
